I disagree. Almost anything can be made stronger, lighter, better. Parts that (if they existed at the time) were simply not viable to put on a $30k production car.

SS lines, forged wheels, BB turbos, re-tune for performance not MPG, replace pressed steel pieces with lighter yet stronger versions, etc.. Even the IX seats (which most people love) are not anywhere near the best.

i guess it depends on your definition of "better". in terms of performance, yes (sometimes). in terms of reliability, not so much. OEM stuff fits, works, and lasts.
i spent a lot of time "upgrading" parts, just to go back to OEM. i learned the hard way LOL. i'm not after absolute horsepower, so all my parts are doing very well. that being said, i do have a few upgraded parts but only out of necessity. i only upgrade what i absolutely have to.

OEM parts factor in cost and ease of manufacturing. In my mind, better/best removes those limitations. Not to mention advancements in technology. Turbos for one have come a long way in the past decade.

honestly AMS, ETS, Buschur racing, and a few other make great parts. I think their parts are either on par if not better then some oem stuff. even though when it comes to sensors oem is usually always the best way to go.

Come on now, how much did your Evo warranty actually save you in repairs? Mine saved me exactly 0 dollars.

lots. not exactly the point, but i see what you are saying. i'm sorry if your experience with OEM parts isn't great. but i still have my opinion on them.

**edit: wait, it sounds like coming across angry LOL. i just mean that i stick with OEM parts and fluids until there's a time aftermarket becomes needed.

Take someone who owns one with you and let them drive it. There's really no other way to know if it's making weird sounds. They make a lot of noise in general.
