I was finally able to afford a EVO, a dream come true. I picked it up off a car lot in Flagstaff AZ, 110,000 miles. It was sitting there for 2 years. Only 200 miles on it in the last year. It ran rough and handled rough, and shaking allot when I test drove it. It has a 3 inch exhaust, from the turbo back, a replacement oversized intercooler, header, and aftermarket oiled air filter. The front has been wreaked, so it has a chopped up front bumper cover. The passenger quarter panel was replaced, and a cheap aftermarket hood. I drove it home, I found all the lug nuts were loose, I could tighten them up with my finger, rides perfect now. Got it home, I did a oil change, Mobil 1 10w30, Napa Gold oil filter, replaced the plugs. It had Autolite plugs gaped at .040. I installed NGK BPR7ES gaped at .026. Redline gear oil is coming to replace the fluids in the transmission, transfer case, and diff. The current status is it rides good, no smoke, good shifting, and quiet gear box. The test drive on this road was, well, a blast. I do get a P0172 code, rich in bank 1, and a rough idle after it warms up. My EVO is far from perfect, but I am proud she is mine. My budget is limited, any suggestions are welcome. I was thinking of replacing the oil air filter, getting evoscan, and install my Toughbook in the car. Maybe a cheap code reader, I would like to get a air fuel meter. I'm sure it needs a tune. I am not new to a Mitsubishi, my other car is a 1999 Eclipse 10 anniversary edition non turbo with ported and polished heads and TB, AEM V2 cold air intake, under drive crank pully I have drove for 15 years.
