Ok im completely new to this. Bought a 96 3000gt that needs a new key cylinder and key. Was told by some others on a fb page that i can program a new key to the ecu myself with software so that the anti-theft recognizes it has the correct key. Also son wants to add better cams and heads and increase the hp of the stock engine. Can any one tell me what all i need to do all of this or if its possible to do this or if a dealer has to do this.

 

Perhaps you should check the 3000GT forums. The Evo is a completely different car.

Yeah, our expertise centers around the EvO w/the 4G63 & 4B11 engines. The 3000GT was built w/the 6G72. Im sure the 3000GT guys have done all engine mods you can think of.
