New guy here I am not actually an Evo owner as of yet but that will change in the next month or so. Currently, I have a 2017 Chevy Camaro SS (50th edition), FBO, headwork, E85 10.90 car on street tires, a 2022 Chevy Silverado, and a 2010 Chevy Colorado. I am getting rid of the colorado to buy an Evo. It's been on my list for a long time I just never pulled the trigger. I came here to learn about them and to look for some history on one I plan to look at this weekend. I live in central VA but the one I am looking at is in northern VA. Here is a quick picture of my Camaro. Have a ton more if anyone is interested.
Here is the Evo in question. It seems a little rough but that's what I am looking for. I plan on buying all the stock bushings, joints, interior pieces, and other stuff I can get my hands on while they are still being made. I am a big DIY guy and while I plan to drive the Evo more often than not I want to "restore" it.
Does anyone happen to know this car? It has had a few owners and it has some mods so I am hopeful!
Do you have the link to the for sale add. We can look at the noted details & give you a quick opinion of what we think. Finding the owner here might be tough
Cheers,
BTW. liken your Camaro. My Wife drives one as well (not as quick as yours=)
Thank you!! That's actually the plan for the Camaro long term, my wife loves driving it (on the 91 tune), but even then it is still fast. So it will be hers! I put the link to the add below. I did get the carfax from the dealership. Looks like it started its life in Palm Beach, FL, then was in eastern PA, NJ, and now VA. I really just want to know about the damage to it and the modifications. The dealer is sending me close-up pictures and a video of it running since I am about 2 hours away from it. More than likely will be a cash deal and I am buying it to wrench on it but I don't want anything serious right away.
It actually looks pretty darn nice! You can see the engine bolt-ons (open intake w/MAF & the VTA blow off). Engine bay & the overall look of the interior / exterior looks like it was taken car of! The 4B11 motor is certainly a nice change to the tried / true 4G63 & is very mod friendly (7 owners if that is true & 80K miles)
Yea, the interior being clean and stock is most important to me. There is a low mileage one that I am looking at close to me, they are high on the price but it has a harness bar and aftermarket seats. I plan on driving that one today and seeing if they are flexible on the price at all, especially since I would be looking to put a factory set of seats back in. Not a big fan of the black wrapped hood but I will be going carbon for the hood and the trunk so its not a super big deal.
