Just picked up this 1 owner 2006 EVO MR from Oregon and will be shipping it back down to Naples FL where it belongs! It spent most of its life in FL before being transported here and I am so happy to have it. 15k miles on the clock. A truly great find. I come from the Ferrari and Porsche forums but the evo for me was a bucket list car since I sat in one on the showroom floor in high school. This has been a dream come true.
My goal with the car will be to restore it entirely and tastefully bring it to life. That said, the first thing I will be doing after a paint correction and restoration of the window trim, minor paint flaws, and complete interior will be suspension and wheels. I will be selling the OEM wheels and tires that are in perfect shape to help fund some of the build. I know they are hard to come by in this shape. Anybody interested just let me know.
Congratulations bro, looks like a superb example. Nothing will beat this era of tuner cars they're truly something special and the evo ix is a golden example of it. Like you I got into these cars early on (around my highschool years) and its always been a dream car of mine since. After years of ownership (and among afew other cars I love) I can truly say it lived up to those dreams. Its everything I expected and more.
Its great to see all the original owners getting old and passing them off to the new younger adult gen of owners (usually in their 30s) who, in general, in my opinion appreciate these cars much more, I wouldn't sell this car if someone knocked on my door with a duffle bag full of 200k cash. Seriously. Try me
Wow, great find! Where did you find it if you don't mind sharing? This might be the lowest mileage I've seen for an Evo 9.

I think you are right. Many of the younger adults buying these now have yearned for one since they were kids playing Gran Turismo, watching JDM videos or seeing them at the Mitsubishi dealerships with their parents. Seems like most of the people who bought them new just wanted a cheaper car that delivered phenomenal performance (at the time).

You nailed it. I’m 32 years old and have wanted a evo since before I could drive. It was always a dream. I’m so happy to hear that you’re loving it. There’s a certain element to “meeting your heroes” that you truly hope doesn’t disappoint.
I got so lucky with this one owner car but he was an enthusiast too. It’s almost stock and came with FOUR binders worth of service records, both keys, the original window sticker, manuals, etc - I’ve never seen a car with records like this. Made me feel very good about the purchase.
I haven’t driven it much yet - it’s being shipped as we speak but I can’t wait to really dive in about a week from now. I’ll be counting down the days! I appreciate the kind words. This is my first real Japanese / tuner style car and I’m excited to get into the community and culture and see where it goes!

Happy to share. The guys at VersionEx Motors / VX Motor sales out of Eugene Oregon had it on their lot. They sell a lot of tuners / higher end modified stuff as well as some rare gems. They also have a badass full shop, body shop, detail department as well. Super cool guys, all car guys and enthusiasts for all cars but with an emphasis on imports / tuners. I spent 1.5 days with them over the last two days and they were great. Just all around good guys. They got it from a dealer when the single owner traded it in and did some light refreshing on it and cleaned up nicely. I found it online this last Sunday, had a PPI done, and flew there yesterday and bought it. Crazy find. 15k miles - very few modifications (for an evo) and it runs great. Engine is healthy. I really just plan to restore, clean, and bring it back to its original fighting shape and then we’ll see where I take it from there. It’s going to be a process but this is one hell of a starting point.
Thanks for sharing this and looking forward to following the build.
I'm interested in the wheels, send me a PM when you are able.
Thanks man!
I’m about to jump on the flight back but I’ll hit you up when I’m home. I didn’t really inspect the wheels with a microscope because I knew I was replacing them but I would want to do that before I give you any kind of price. I’m sure they’re pristine but want to get pics etc.
I should have the car by Thursday/Friday and can get some details to you then!
If you need paint for any of the paint issues I have a bunch of your color. It should be mitsubishi code A39. I just sold my car (it was the same as yours) and I have no need for the paint anymore.

Really appreciate that. The guys I bought if from did a respray in some of the areas that had issues so I should be good for a while.
I bought mine exact car as you, low miles, all mint stock from old man in Oregon in October.
So far I have seen 4 exact color, all low mile 1 owner 9 MR l, being picked up from OR last 12 months
though i am confused by “need to bring it back,”
at that mileage car should be mint
i know mine is showroom condition - i would think yours is too
also in your photos how the trunk looks different color than quarter panel and front driver fender color look different than door - they all seem to do that in photos
enjoy

it's the angle on the panels, the most dramatic being the front fenders to the doors; evo is just too angular for physics on earth, faster than speed of light
