Talking New RA - need advice

Hi there people!

I just got my (Phoenix Red) Ralliart today (yeah! ) and feel like I should seek advice on these two subjects:

First - any hints on how to remove the glue left on the car after removing the (f**king) dealer's stickers? I sure wouldn't want to ruin the paint job the first weekend I get the car!

Second - is anything particular about this car's break-in period? Any special care to the breaks, the engine???

Thanks for any advice you guys might provide!

First off, Congrats on you new purchase!

To answer your questions:
1) goo gone - it works wonders
2) read your owners manual about the break in. same old stuff really, just be gentle on the engine for the first 300 miles.

Congrats man! I can't wait to get my RA... lol, but yea... the clutch takes a bit to break in and I think I've heard that you shouldn't rev your car extremelly high for a bit... but I don't really know that for sure untill I get my own And again congrats!

Thanks! And I hope you get your chance at owning one... I don't know if it's the case where you live, but up here this car is getting damn freaking rare! I been told bought one of the last Phoenix Red Ralliarts in a 200Km radius... the manager said that they won't be able to get any other Ralliarts until october... if Mitsu ever put some more in production. And I really hope they do, since this is the best car I've owned to date (beats the Integra anyway).

Yeah, I heard that I shouldn't rev it too much until 500Ks (300 miles) or so... What about the clutch though? Is there a particular method to breaking a clutch? Since I was told this is a ceramic clutch, I wonder if it even has a break-in period... This whole Mitsu thing is all new to me (I've been a Honda guy for 15 years)...

Uh... does that mean that when I got to 6000RPM while showing the car off tonight...

What is it about the fluids though? Some superficial grinding of the cylinders and such during break-in period??? That makes sense... Did you change all fluids?!? I would think the motor oil and coolant would end up catching most of the residue... but I'm no pro at this.

Anyway, thanks a lot for the much needed input!

Sorry, I initially missed your post...

Thanks and thanks some more! I'm getting the big head here!

Isn't Goo Gone a degreaser (as in not so gentle on oil-based paints)??? I've never actually used the stuff... don't really know what it's meant for...

Thanks for the tips!

Well, go for it man... I just got back from a little ride in mine 30mins ago and I just can't wait 'till sunrise to jump in again! I can't imagine a better car for the money (which I happen to have in very finite supplies).

I too think that the blue EVO is damn nice looking!!! But then again, it's not only the paint color I'll be missing... turbo anyone???

Basicly, you shouldnt have your car over 4000rpm for the first 500kms(300miles), and then after that it's up to you, I drove mine like that till 1000km's, then I gradually started driving it harder.

I waited till I was around 1000kms before I took it out on the hwy then after a little more then I started giving her a little more revs...they say the best thing is to not do any high revs or long hwy driving until past the 1Kkms...

googone automotive is citrus based. you should be fine with that, just rinse the area off and maybe wax a little when you're done.
