I usually run my car untill the gas light turns on.... Thats when I know that I need to fill up. The past two times that the light has turned on, I can only get 9 gallons into the tank... Sounds like some sort of sensor problem to me, but I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem
Yeah, everyone has that. That's just how the sensors are set up to be, I guess. It's not really a problem or anything. I guess Mitsu didn't want anyone running the car until its totally out of gas and break the engine. Just a precaution. Sometimes if I'm super urgent, I run it for another 2-3 gallons past when the light first turned on, but never more than that. Oh yeah, I can get about 10-11 gallons when the light goes on.

if you tihnk about it the gas tank is saddlebagged over the driveshaft and exhaust.... My guess is that the sensor is located to one side of it, i usually run my tank down till the needle is on the lower line. Then it will take about 12 gallons to refill....

Actually according to EvoMoto the fuel pump is on the drivers side, but both sides of the tank have a sender. This is a snippit from their website:
A few tidbits about the Evo fuel pump/tank:
-There are TWO fuel level senders, one for each side of the saddle-type fuel tank.
-The fuel pump gets fuel itself directly from its side of the tank, as well as the opposite chamber via a "suction hose".
-Tank capacity: 14 gallons

I try to not let my car get below 1/8 of the tank. then you just start sucking up all the crap and imputities into the engine with less gas to dillute them, then you start getting unclean fuel system parts.

When I changed out my fuel pump, I saw the indicator there, and as I recall it was just hanging there, so I'd assume that there will be variety in how it hangs in each Evo, just like the ol' sac...
