yeah thats it... do a search on this site for the automatic piggyback... you will get a ton of information that will help you along the way... that way you dont get scared by the erratic idle your car will have while it learns the new fuel curves and such...

glad I could be of some help.. any other questions just post em here or you can pm me or anyone else here helping you

You could also just ge the RRM ECU and use the medium octane gas you do right now and just add octane booster. Which will put you well in the octane range for the new ecu.

I just started to work on my lancer too. I just added a AEM Cold Air Intake. Which is a great improvement in power and sound. It cost me around $250. Also, a great exhaust is the Mangaflow Cat-Back Exhaust. You can get all of these performance parts at roadracemotorsports.com

not to sound stupid, but... or whatever, but just go TURBO. i know thats the lat thing you want to hear because you dont want to spend 3k. But i would say just do it because you will experience more power than dropping 400$ for a catback, 500$ for a ECU and 250$ for a intake which puts you at 1100$ right there, and then the headers are another close to 400 and then u will add maybe 20hp, so just turbo in my opinion is the best bang for your buck.

not everyone wants to shell out 3k + install for a turbo... good solution for power, but expensive...

the ECU is an expensive first mod yes, but every mod you make after it only increases it's benefit because of the ECU... gotta think long-term!!

hmm ya, but i am pissed at myself for wasting so much time and money on nothing, i would of rather saved up an extra couple months gone turbo and then put in a catback and so on. ( i wish i would of done it that way ) now, i've had to wait an extra year for the turbo ( my job is seasonal, or old job atleats)

it should, but it would probably cost you more to buy the octane booster every time you fill up unless you work at a pep boys or whatevr and can get a mad discount... figure 20bucks or so for gas for straight premium, or like 18bucks and 2something for booster... kinda the same stuff
