hey im new to these forums and i have a couple of questions
first off i dont own a lancer , i have a 2000 toyota celica gt-s 6 speed with too many mods to list.... but there isnt enough aftermarket to keep me interested anymore.... so ive been thinking about trying my hand at an EVO Viii.... what are somethings to look for when purchasing one... i know with the celica the belt tensioner messes up and the lift bolts sometimes mess up.... and also what do you think the insurance differance will be between an evo and the celica? (im 19) thanks for any help

Welcome aboard. actually my insurance went down when i got the evo im 21 and have 2 cars 3 points, and my insurance is only 1800 a year !
Make sure you get a good deal on the evo dont let them rape you.. you dont think the numbers are what you want then leave! there is a few threads on msrp and dealers. just use the search function and you will find more info than you really need

i found one for 24g and the color i want (blue by you) with 14k miles you know what the diff will be insurance though i have no points or anything and my celica is 720 every 3 months..... theres no way its a whole lot higher than that

welcome to the board - use it (if you buy an evo) - it's a huge help!
my insurance is 230 a month (up from 180 for my ex-wrangler) and IT'S WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY A MONTH.
as far as price, just look around where you live. go to every last mitsu dealer in or near your town. i didnot and now i wish i would've, 'cus now i've read on this board that there was a much better place to buy from.
the only thing to "watch out for" when buying an evo (that i can think of) is the blow-off valve conection. it's been reported on this board that the bracket that holds it on can be loose from the factory, therefore causing a loss of boost. and mine was. if you want to read up on it, do a search for "free horsepower by tightening 1 clamp!".
have fun buying the last car you'll ever want to own
