Some newbie question: how much should i pay? and track set up?

Hey guys. I'm thinking about trading my S2000 in on an EVO. Just had a few questions:

First of all, how much are these things going for? I know they can be had for well under MSRP. How much under? The one i am looking for is a white 04 with the sunroof and leather package. MSRP is a bit over 33k. Around 28,000? Also, i will be leasing it...any idea what kind of lease payments i should expect? Anyone have 39 month residual numbers?

Now the harder question, does this car need anything to be very competent on the track? Can the brakes hold up to lots of laps? Any oiling problems in high g turns? Are the shocks stiff enough? What exactly is needed to get it totally track ready (i'm talking 20 or so track events a year with autocrosses mixed in).

Thanks,
Steve

The car can even be had for well under invoice. You just have to pray your dealer wants to sell you the car. I got my '04 with the sun/sound/leather package for $30,624 and a $500 royalty rebate.

Why lease? I've never seen the point of it, sorry. I think you'd be better off buying. I had to finance 20k and my payments are $319 a month for 6 years at 4.5% interest. There are deals out there, you just have to find them. Good luck with your purchase, sorry I couldn't help with any of your other questions since my Evo has not arrived from Japan yet.

Heya,

When I was out at thunderhill last weekend there was a pretty much stock evo (a chip and rear sway bar upgrade) out there kicking some serious booty. I would just get one and make a few mods. Try it out with a rear sway bar first, chip it, add an exhaust and maybe a down pipe and then for more serious tracking add some JIC's...
