Sorry, i'm a Newbie... can u give me a hand?

Hi all,
I have a 2003 Pearl White LS, and i wanted to get a set of skirts from somebody. I noticed there are alot of people selling their set of OZ skirts for real cheap, but the problem is i can never find the color i'm looking for.

I'm wondering if i need to get a set of skirts (not the color of my car), do i need to sand down the paint from the original skirts, and then get them repainted?

Also, do you think if its worth while if i get a set of skirts for 200US and then i have to get them repainted after? How much do you think if i need to pay in addition to my skirts in order to get the job done?

oh btw, just to let you guys know... i don't know much about cars, so it would be great if you guys can give me a hand!

thx alot!
Don

You will have to sand the paint off, then primer, then wet sand, then paint, then wet sand. Then clear coat. If you don't have a booth to do it in, pay a paint shop because its almost impossible to keep things off the paint while drying. Hope this helps.

I dont believe those parts were ever marketed by Mitsubishi in the U.S. The EVO 8 is the first one to be here in a while. As far as I know that is...

Okay, buy those side skirts that you want and bring them to auto body shop to paint it. That's all you have to do. If you're going to paint it yourself then of course you need to wet sand it to remove the clear coat then the paint. After, sand it again with 120-200 grits to remove imperfection spot then 300-600 grits for smoother. Oh well.......there is more. Besides sanding, you also need a compressor (at least 6-8 SCFM, 20+ gallons tank), spray guns and good location to paint like a garage.

By the way, you have to pay the body shop then they ll paint the sides.hehe. Probably 200 dollars cost.
