speaking of high speeds

random statistic. my buddy and i drive from nor cal to LA all the time for fun.......on I-5 we opened up his 98 BMW 328i with a dinan exahsut and performance chip. He gets 25.3 mpg at 85 mph (consistent), and astonishingly gets 17.8 mpg at 135 mph. the bmw has the little computer thing that calculates at any speed when u reset it....we set his cruis at 135 and hit the reset button and let it ride for a while.....17.8 was what we came up with....how amaazing is that......

sorry competley off topic lol

I agree 100% I Prefer a stiffer ride, even on long trips.

i've made several long trips in my evo and love every second of it. i never use cruise when i drive distance anyway. too easy to fall asleep. if you complain about no cruise you must not like stick that much either. i drive stick b/c i feel more in control, as I do when there is no cruise control. i also like to accelerate and speed so i don't want to turn off my cruise when i see a cop. my back never hurts after driving my evo, and usually an hour or two drive will do it for me. as far as suspension goes, it's okay. could defintely be worse, but it's not a lincoln either. very spacious leg, head, and arm room and lots of trunk space. can seet four very comfortably. terrible gas though. make sure to cool the car after a trip.

I prefer a stiffer ride as well. But half way into a long trip it gets annoying. Like my *** will hurt. But it only last a short while.

I drove 22 hours straight (nonstop) in my Evo MR on my trip from Chicago to LA. Of course, I'm commenting on the Bilstein shocks so this may not be as applicable. But it was smooth as ever. Cruise control would have been nice though... The only time I would have liked to have it.

I think the MR is a great highway ride, but it does tend to really follow the truck ruts that are worn in I-5 out here. I've done a couple of days with about 5hrs in the seat, and no real fatigue issues. One good stretch when I get out and I'm GTG again. Other than that it's a blast.

Hmm, my *** never hurts after a long drive but my elbow does. I usually rest it on the door up by the window or down lower on the arm rest, both of which are made of hard plastic. The gas milage isn't too bad, and I usually get 280 miles per tank on the highway. I don't understand how some people are saying they get 200 miles per tank. You must have a lead foot to get milage that crappy, esp. on the highway.

I just wish I had cruise control. But I'm too lazy to add it so I'll just complain about not having it instead since that's easier. lol

LOL, yeah, it's $2.30 around here too and the best we've got is 91.

Whenever I travel to California I make the mistake of stopping at the Chevron at Chiriaco Summit where gas prices are f'n insane! Last time I went through there I paid $2.97 a gallon for 91 octane **** gas.

I live in Pa, and i've made a trip to Virginia (about 4 or 5 hours) and one to Ohio (7 hours) as well as countless trips to my house from school and back (2 hour trip each way) and I have to say, the Evo is BY FAR my favorite car that i've driven for any sort of distance. I have the leather, which i've heard is slightly more comfortable than the cloth (I can't vouch for this, just what I hear). I'm also 6' 6", and I never get cramped legs or anything in the evo (which is about the only vehicle that's happened with, including suv's). I don't know how people get this crappy mileage....I usually get around 300 miles by the time the gas light comes on.

Just my .02

My *** always hurts like I just got out of the shower room, after a long trip.
