Speaker Size
They are actually an oversize 6.5. If you are replacing the speakers run a search and find what people have gotten to fit. I made spacers for all four speakers when I replaced them. the rears only needed a thin frame to fit the opening but watch out for the depth on the front speakers, there I had to put in 1/2 " spacers to clear the window. Also the stock speakers have a "sort of oval" mounting plate (check out a rear one, they are all the same). Also they have a molded connecter on the lip of the spacer to connect to the stock wiring.

bob's right, i think 6.75" fits. i got 6.5" mb quarts and the spacers that came with them didn't fit at all. sounds ghetto but i actually ripped out the old speakers and used the old speaker holders to mount the new speakers into.
maybe someone has a better way, but i found it a big hassle to change out the speakers. even the tweeters were hard to remove because the screws felt like they were torqued in.

I used the old speakers to make outlines on some scraps of 1/2 MDF and 1/4 paperboard, then outlined the new speakers on it and cut them out with a roto-tool. Then I had spacers with the holes for screws lined up and ready for installation.
