Hi everyone.. I just picked up my 2004 Evo. Unreal is the only thing I can say... The breakin miles are killing me.. Very fun ride,, Im searching now for mud flaps...and was told my the dealer that they dont make them,, Also just curious if anyone has any tires to reccomend after the treadwear 140s are gone... Im tight budgeted so, I may need all seasons?? Can anyone experienced with these please reply. Thanks CJ

mud flaps ehh idk if i really like the look of the evo with them.. but if you wanna do it do it... as for tires.. idk... toyo makes really nice set T1-s... or what i would go with would be the Bridgestone Potenza S0-3.. those are gonna be my next set probaly.. my friend had them on his wrx ( highly modded wrx ).. and they were very good for wet and dry grip... as for tred wear on any of these good tires.. don't expect to get many miles out of them.... but hey congrats on the car you'll love it... haha and yeah break in sucks.... just wait til you wanna mod your car.... thats the more dissapointing part.... ( lack of money for what you want is what i mean )

Congrats!

do not put all-season tires on the car - you will lose that Evo-Feeling!

In the winter, just do a snow tire

Tight-budgeted? Do not even bother looking at the Ralliart mudflaps

Question

The dealer did mention that they offers a mud flap....I think what I want is the molded fitted plastic guards... If they dont make them I guess Ill just have to get over it... My car came with a 3 year 45k service contract and 10 year 100k drive line coverage....6 year 60k bumper to bumper.. Psyched about the coverage... wonder what driving in the snow will be like??? CJ

T1S is a good tire its not quite as sticky as the advans but it is cheaper and does much better in the rain... If you want an all season tire the proxy 4 will work but its not the same as the performance tires. I would recomend the T1S because its still a performance tire but lasts a lot longer than the advans and does well in rain or shine.

There is a company that is just about ready to release their muflaps, much cheaper then the $400+ Ralliart ones. Check this link for info:

Or you can go with these, search down onto page 2:

He is looking for something that is all season guys at least offer him some tires that fit his criteria. I run the Conti Extreme Contacts, which are an all season tire, as my winter tire on my stock wheels. They are not as sharp as the Advans but are still pretty good tires that performed well in the snow, slush, rain and dry last year.
