Screw the swapping guys. Tune this 4G94 the best you can. We aren't even close to discovering what it's capable of. Besides, tuning is all about improvement.
"You want a fast car, then you shouldn't have bought a Lancer and should've bought an EVO7."
I say screw that. What happened to sweat, blood, and work being put into a car, not to forget mentioning..money.
Because when you say, "...buy an EVO7.." I can just say, buy a Ferrari, or a Lister, because your EVO7 would die to one. So enough of that crap. Tune this 2.0L 4 banger and run with a different pack.

Typhoon,

Good luck with the project. I think people generally are not aware of just what is involved in a conversion. You seem to know what you are up against and you have the opportunity, ability and desire. That I would not attempt the conversion is not a condemnation of your decision to do so.

Hurry up and finish the project. I want to see the pix!

Knowing what you are up against doesn't make it a good idea...it goes back to the point that why would you swap on a brand new car. if you want to make your car real fast/nice and put a lot of work/effort/money into it, there's so many endless things you can do in the form of tuning. I just don't understand why people would buy a brand new car, new to market even, and then basically turn it into a completely different car. Yeah, you have a unique project, but so would a supercharged awd us lancer. i would like someone attempt to do THAT. engine swaps are for mustangs....rally cars (i use the term loosely to refer to the lancer) are made for tuning. the limits of this car haven't been reached yet, why jump 4 steps and go straight to the swap? this car was made for rally driving, not drag racing. go AWD and that will gain mucho respecto. besides, when your big powerful engine rips apart the suspension etc........
