Crazy sounds coming from my brakes!
so now when i drive my car and i apply the brakes i get this amazingly loud metal on metal sound.. it freakin sucks!. it also seemed to be making a rubbing sound as i drove.. definately not pleasant! it just started so i gotta get it checked out tomorrow.. any idea on what it could be?.. brake pads is my guess.. would the fact that my car is lowered have anything to do with this?. i'm just really worried that if i continue to drive my car like this i will do some serious damage to it!

u should check ur pads frequently lke every 3,000 miles or so, or when u do your like 6k, 15k, 30, service etc. makn sure u still have good amount of % on ur pads. 50% is still good but if it goes below lke 20% should concider changing it. wen u hear metal to metal. thats the brake shims rubbing against the rotors. which is bad. causes unequal wear on the rotors and hard to stop and not good to drive. and makes the grinding sound. n this result of metal to metal will result u to buy new rotors. since therse a certain amount of thickness on the rotors. if its severly dammage, should be changed immediatley.
