What makes an MR FQ-340?

If this has been discussed before, i'm sorry to bring it up again, but...

What bits make a run of the mill MR an MR FQ-340?

Can we reproduce it in the States? With respect to performance, not the visual parts... though liking the carbon fiber exhaust shield .

You should PM Kyl3cook. He's in the UK and has an MR FQ-320.

I think the FQ-320 already has an exhaust not available or legal here. So may have to scratch that mod off the list.

340 is different than the 320 because the 340 has a piggyback ECU.

Yes, I have been asking this same question for the last 3 months. There is still no solid answer.

So, If kyl3cook see this thread, can you ask your dealer and help us post a complete list of HKS goodies in the FQ340 package?

Thanks in advance. For me at least, I just can't trust those Mickey Mouse tuning shop to "improve" my stock MR. At least Mitsubishi make the MR so i trust them for the mod recipe.

FQ-300 is stock

FQ-320 = MR + HKS Super DraggerII, HKS intercooler pipe kit, Change the wastegate ferrule (restrictor) and reflash.

FQ-340 = MR + HKS Super DraggerII, HKS intercooler pipe kit, another change the wastegate ferrule (restrictor), reflash and a Dastek Unichip Piggy back.

FQ-400 = Not finalized yet.

Just nee to remember they are starting with a car that is 300 bhp stock. The gas over in the UK is 98 RON. So the tuning here in the states should probably be different. On the east cost in the US they are probably around 98 RON.

Anyway nothing magical about the FQ upgrades

You can tell by the inside of the tip they run a lot leaner than the 8.

It bumps a stock 305 hp UK MR to a 346 hp MR. I would just get a good tuning package that works here in the states with our Evo and our poor quality gas. You 94 Octane gas guzzling easterners excepted.

Do the FQ EVOs have an upgraded downpipe as well?
