is an engine swap needed

hey, i have a lancer coupe with a 4G93 SOHC, planning on turboing it, but looking at kits etc seems easier to get a imported gsr motor. now the part im confused about is the gear box i have a "Four speed electronically controlled INVECS II automatic with torque converter and 'Sports Mode' tiptronic-style shift control" as mitsubishi says it ok but nothign like a manual. see i searched around and people were talkign about having to get a new gearbox aswell. is this true cause if so i'd spend the money on getting it converted to 4wd

I've heard really good things about the invecs transmission...probably would have better benefits with more hp.

Converted to AWD = near 6000 bucks (in the states) unless you can do the pretty intense welding / custom stuff yourself... i think Roadracengineering.com has info on what it intels. Of course if your over seas, then it should be cheaper... do to the fact that parts are more easily obtained there rather than here.

I dont know much about that transmission... but just a rule of thumb, most NA cars (transmissions) cant take additional power that a turbo brings... but thats an assumption so i might be wrong there.
