wrc- germany

hey i was just curious if anybody watched the wrc in germany over the weekend. i am an avid fan and it was the craziest rally i have ever seen. serious. it is a tarmac rally and everybody went down in wrecks. gronholm in his peugeot 307 with a brand new 5 speed tranny, coming off of his first win two weeks ago in 14 months, went off the road and ruined his suspension 500 meters into the first stage. solberg went down in his suby, and so did panzini (i think that is his name) in his evo. horrible crashes- especially for the first real TARMAC rally of the season. i am curious how the hell do i get the parts off of the totaled mits. you know they are just throuwing that stuff away.

Yeah, I saw that Mitsubishi give it to the tree...or was it the other way around. The Subaru got DESTROYED after it hit the tank barrier and flipped a few times...Did you see how that rollcage on the passenger side collapsed

Funny that you mention, but they do take the cars away. I remember in my country some years ago in a non-wrc rally, when they crashed they wouldn't pick the cars right away so some people got a hold of nice seats, rims etc
Nowadays, they pick them up right away

i have never seen a rollcage go like that before. it was crazy. Loeb pretty much seems to have that whole deal on lockdown. being in his third year, and now he has one on every surface. i hope that mcrae gets a ride for next year. he has done some good stuff this year though. running at lemans and all. we shall see what happens with all of it, but i am a gronholm fan. almost shut off the tv after i saw him go down, and so soon. i thought he was back on top again. and mitsu said now that they are limiting there entries for 05, so that they can really run run for 06. i am pretty sure that is what i heard. panizzi's were running well before the tree caom out of nowhere. lol

That was a crazy rally. I can't believe that Gronholm was out on the first turn! Then Panizzi's wreck, it looked like he was goin 60mph sideways when he slid off the road! It looked like Solberg was going to have a podium finish until bad luck plagued him AGAIN, and really bad this time. I dont know which was worse, Solbergs wreck in Germany or Markko Martins end over end roll 2 rallies ago. Looks like Germany is one hell of a deceptively hard rally! Kept me on the edge of my seat.

i was really glad to see that marko kind of got his feet back. i am not a big focus fan, but he is a really talented driver. that wreck he had a few weeks ago was bad, man. i am not sure which was worse, his or ralph shumacher at indy. did anybody see that one. hit the unprotected cement wall at about 160-170 full throttle after a tire malfunction. broke his back.
