Clutch Problem 04?

I'm not sure if this is a clutch issue as I've never owned a turbo and maybe I just haven't been paying much attention over the past 2 1/2 months.

I currently have 7200 miles on my 04 Evo. When I press on the gas in any gear around 2500-2700 RPM the turbo spools up and the RPM's jump to 3500-3750 the car leaps forword at the peak and the RPM's drop to about 2750-2900. 5 gear has been diffcult to get in to since day one at anything over 5000 RPM's.

Any help on this issue would be great. I've also tested the clutch using an engine break (Or what I know as an engine break) and the clutch engages with no issues at all grabs great in first and second gear to slow the car down.

Ok So now I need to know how poeple fought with mitsu to get this issue fixed because I just called and I'm already being told it's not covered. 7200 miles my *** someone is going to pay for this and it's not going to be me. If anyone has experince with this please let me know.

Also becasue this is an 04 I'm not finding much to help my arguement...Though I will be taking what I find online about the 03's. Hope that helps.

If you are a semi-convincing person and have no power related mods, you should have no problem getting it covered under warranty. Also, try more than one dealer.

Tell them your brand new 2004 Evolution's clutch is slipping. The clutch, the brake pads, and the window wiper blades are all covered under warranty for 1 year or 12,000 miles. The reason why they limit those wear and tear items to 1 year/12,000 miles is because if one of em are defective, they will fail in 1 year's time.

You only have 7,200 miles and you are still within the warranty time frame. With that being said, you would like your thirty thousand dollar vehicle fixed under the manufacturer's stated warranty because this is a big investment for you and there is no reason why this expensive of a car should be having problems at a minor 7,200 miles.

Good luck, bro.

Actually I don't even know what problem you're facing with your vehicle. I'm going off other people's response (clutch). But the basic idea behind my above post is how you should approach the Service Department.

Actually thank you Dizzigital. I did read though the manual and then called a different dealership and they said to jut bring it in and they would check it out. Not saying they would or would not cover it but the last dealership pretty much told me I was screwed and there was no way they where covering it if it was the cluch no matter what.
