Question The Initiating of Modification

Well guys, i am kinda a newbie to the world of modification to cars. I just got my mitsu lancer and i am unsure as what i should do to my car. What I wanna know is what are the essential things that one must do or most people do when they just start on there car so that future hardcore mods like turbo etc can take place. List of things and any explanation of why would be GREATLY APPRECIATED as i am now in the position to begin modification. THX EVERYONE!

I'd suggest that you do a lot of reading both on this forum and elsewhere. Run a search for what mods you plan on getting or take a browse at the specific forums (Lancer Engine/Suspension/etc.) and you'll find more than enough info to base your decisions on as well as install guides.

Definitely echo ghostrider's comments!

Am a newbie and have found an incredible wealth of information on this forum, expecially from many of the evolved members.

There is also a lot of information availbable on AEM websites and online magazines. You can find the links by simply searching the forum

if your ABSOLUTELY sure your gonna get turbo, then...
-3" piping catback exhaust- when turbo is in a car, the exhuast has to be more open than regular piping for better exhaust flow( not necessary, just recommended.)

- forged rods and pistons (internal engine mods)- not necessary if you are fine with running 6 psi all the time, but if you want to run higher boost then you HAVE to get these.

- maybe a bored intake manifold and throttle body- better air intake is always good.
