Meaning if a Camaro passes by with a Flowmaster and he likes the sound even though the sound levels are high and an import passes by whose db levels a below the limit but don't like the sound and gives him a ticket. Ridiculous.
Just a little secret to remember is that I or any other police officer cannot give you a ticket for a loud exhaust without showing the court that the officer measured the sound with a db meter. Just as you said, what might not be loud to me, might be loud to another officer. So if any of you get a ticket for the db of your muffler, take it to court if he didn't display, or use a db meter. Where I work a few officer's have a db meter, and that's the only way are ticket will hold up in court.
The same goes for window tint. I have a tint meter to determine if the tint is state legal or not. Because if I give you a ticket for your tint, and you take me to court and show that it's the correct percent, then I tell the judge that " to my eye it looked to dark." I'll look like an idiot to the judge, and you'll win your case!

Welcome aboard! Thank you for the good tips!
Tell us more about the MR. Did you get a delivery date yet? Did you pay MSRP? How long was the waiting list in MD?

I got a question for ya Evo police....

I got pulled over once and the cop said he clocked me going 70 in a 55 I have a really good radar detector and it never went off. I didn't argue with the cop in fear of making things worse on myself and ended up I got lucky and got away with a warning.

Problem is I know he didn't actually clock me and if he had of given me a ticket its my word against his in a courtroom and we all know how that would turn out. Any tips on how to deal with that should the situation ever occur again?

great to have you here evo police. i can't wait to hear the responses you'll be able to give when someone whines... "waaa! i got pulled over doing 100 in a 55 with limo tint by some stupid pig cop!"

AH! you know what you have to do? you HAVE to post some of your fun pull-over stories. i'm sure you've seen and heard it all.

congrats on the MR. don't forget to post pics when you get it!

LOL I'm going to fill you guys in on the new radars that we use to catch people speeding. The first radars that came out ran on a K-Band. Basically as your driving on the highway, your Radar detector starts to beep as you get closer to the officer with the radar gun. See with those they had to remain on at all times.

The ones we use now are completely laser. There shaped like a gun with a rechargeable battery and trigger. Here's the main difference, I can have this new laser radar gun off until I see you coming. In Laser Radar School they teach us now to get a visual of a speeding car first, then fix are sights on the vehicle. In turn what this does is let you get close enough to me without your radar detector going off, and then I clock your speed. Once I hit the trigger to get you, and your radar detector is going off, it's to late. Now the only chance you have is this, say your driving and speeding, and just before you hit a turn, your radar detector goes off, more then likely you should be fine, because I just got someone else, and your radar detector is close enough to pick it up.

Other then that the best thing is to just try and be a polite person as possible. Don't use the excuses we have all heard: Running late to school, I was keeping up with other traffic, etc...

Couple things that may help you, is to have a FOP Sticker some where on the car, military ID (whether active or reserve) Me personally, I give military, FOP supporters, and the working people breaks, I.E. UPS driver, DHL, people who I know have to rush.

Anyway, hope I shed some light on the famous radar detectors.
