Someone explain all the hype on the MR before I decide to buy?

Hey guys. So far been getting great info/replies here (which is hard to find on message boards).

Anyway, I'll be getting my check from my insurance in the next couple weeks and was curious on some of your opinions. 03, 04, or wait for the 05 MR which I've been reading through the sticky post, but the closest release date on em I've come to find is within "the next couple weeks". . .

If that's the case I might as well wait..unless there really is no significant upgrade on the MR? What's the real difference between the 3 models? Much? My car is mainly gonna be used for daily driving and the occassional meets. I just need mostly a car that is fun as **** to drive and when I pull up to a stop light I have a chance .

Thanks.

it's sick, a limited production compared to regular evo, (read collectors item), Other than that, it ran about the same times as the new 05 STI, apparently suby made some significant changes to the steering and suspension setup over the 04. Shop the MR against the 05 sti and you'll find a higher asking price on the MR for similar performance.

No one knows the price yet but im sure you will be paying a couple more grand for the MR. Im sure you read about the MR and know the differences so its your choice if you hav the money laying around. I would get it if I were you. One thing is the ride is better, not as stiff and handles better than the regualr Evo. Dont forget there wont be as many MR's on the street so thats a plus.

Heh.

There's already very few EVO's around here (SW Florida) and that's one of the reasons why I'm gonna get one. It just seems from what I've seen the MR is giving you for a few grand more you could just go out and buy yourself for possibly cheaper and get the same results, no?

Everyone here has a Civic (of course), IS300's, and those silly ****ers who drive beamers. Although..I..myself was looking into one and it just didn't seem logical to pay 37+ grand for a 230HP luxury car..even though they look nice. I still love the aggressive style EVO has. . . .

I'm sure I would get laid more if I had a beamer though ;p

yeah thats funny...evrybody thinks there car will be a collectible
MR is hype to me
none of the cool visual cues like the JDM
The 6 speed is basically like the 5 but with an overdrive
the car is lighter like 10-20lbs

what its got going for it....acd, suspension.....harldy worth 7k in my book
since a standard evo can be had for 28k and used ones as low as 22k

All the EVOs are going to have ACD as standard feature. PLUS I thought the MR was actually 300 lbs lighter b/c of the wheels and aluminum roof.

I agree with yu tho, MR is overrated

Yeah I read that to, thats wrong...its actually 10-20lbs lighter in the US version. If It was 300lbs lighter then that would be really worth it right there....but it aint

You can buy the Blitsteins and aftermarket wheels. The tails will be the same ricetessas that we have and headlights are the same. 6 speed, big deal. ACD, I drive 100% on tarmac. Not worth the extra few thousand. Sticker has to be at or near 35K, plus giant markups and they will hold since only 1000 units are coming.

Not worth it unless you happen to get a good deal. This car may hold its value well, but nowhere near a collectors car. Don't buy it for investment, You will lose. Look into real estate.

Why does everyone keep bringing up ACD. ACD will be standard on ALL EVO MODELS. NOT JUST MR

The MR comes in the Thunder Grey Metallic... yum

Its not really worth the few extra bucks to those who have to work for their money, but if its pocket change to you - be one of the few to own one.
