Evo VIII or Evo IX?

I have roughly 20000 to spend on an Evo. Evo VII I do not have to pay more than I already have so all the money can go towards upgrading the car. But if I choose an Evo IX, I won't be able to purchase any mods for a good while. Is Evo IX that much more worth it? A 5000-6000 price difference?

It's your call really. From what I hear, the IX will respond with higher horsepower for basic bolt-ons than the VIII. The problem is, you won't have any cash left over if you do go with the IX.

There is a differance between the two, obviously. But in my opinion, it's not TOO drastic. Personally, I'd rather have a modded VIII then a stock IX.

Well judging by your user name I would go with a IX!Some prefer the look of the EVO IX front bumper VS the EVO VIII front bumper as well as the heads, tails, and of course the MIVEC.Even if you cannot afford parts for a IX for awhile that will just give you more time to save up money for mods you really want.

8 if you're mod hungry and 9 for a fairly stock whip.

It looks like it boils down to the preference of the looks and the Mivec engine. Is it that much more worth it? What would you guys do if you were in my shoes?

i had the same decision to make a few months ago. i decided to go with the 9. yeah you can get a 8 cheaper and get some mods right off the bat, but u get a newer car with some newer technology ie:mivec and all the little things that make a 9 a 9. save a little bit of money and buy your mods a little later. for bolt ons the 9 seems to respond better. all the very high horsepower cars are mostly 8's though. so just make up your mind and either way u cant go wrong a evo is a evo. good luck man

very simple answer, you wanna make some good power and still have an evo? hop on a 8. only thing i even like about the 9 is the front thats why i bought a 9 front. other then that to me thats the very last traditional 4g motor. the choice is yours choose wisely. also now a days money is definetly a major issue
