BC CAMSHAFTS



Brian Crower Stage 2 272° Cams
Brian Crower 272 degree cams have a short duration for nice street manners, and a slight lope at idle. Excellent all purpose spec cams. These cams can be used with stock valve springs and retainers, though the Brian Crower kit is recommended.

Brian Crower Stage 3 280° Cams
Brian Crower 280 degree cams have a longer duration profile and added RPM potential. Intended for fully built engines, Tuning and ECU mods recommended. The BC valvetrain kit below is required for engine longevity.


Brian Crower cams for the 2008-2012 Mitsubishi Evolution X are manufactured to exacting precision. Brian Crower high performance Evo camshafts are ground on state-of-the-art CNC cam grinders to ensure accuracy and tolerances to within .02mm. Every Brian Crower Evo X camshaft profile has been prototyped and dyno tested for proven horsepower results prior to being produced. By grinding cores in high volume, Brian Crower, Inc. is able to pass the cost savings on to the end user. Brian Crower produces first-rate cams at affordable prices.
All Brian Crower Evolution X cams are checked on a high speed, sub-micron accuracy measuring gauge. Brian Crower uses an Adcole Camshaft Measuring System with individual measuring heads for each cam journal and cam lobe. This instrument has .01 micron resolution, taking one datum point each 1/10th of a degree or 3,600 data points per revolution. Up to 200 Brian Crower cams per hour are checked for errors in rise and for any chattermarks.


BC SPRINGS AND RETAINERS


Brian Crower Spring & Retainer Kit


Designed for high rpm, Brian Crower single valve springs for the Evolution X are wound from only the highest grade, super clean, chrome silicone alloy and feature proprietary processing procedures for consistent pressures. Brian Crower titanium retainers are CNC machined from 6AL4V round bar titanium to exacting tolerances. An excellent product at a great price. We recommend using these stiffer valve springs and lighter retainers when upgrading cams.

GSC's Power-Division high-performance camshafts for the 4B11T powered Mitsubishi Evolution X are engineered to offer the absolute best performance. Power-Division has stepped up their game with the S-Series cams for the Evolution X. With the couple of profiles, Power-Division has a cam combination to fit your needs. From a stock turbo daily driver to a big turbo track car, GSC's Power-Division S-Series cams can add power where you need it.
Stage 1 cams are designed for the Evolution X with the stock turbo or with a larger turbo pushing up to the 550hp range. The S1 cams will not sacrifice any bottom end loss compared to the stock cams; nothing but gains and will promote faster spooling of upgraded turbos. Gains of 20-50whp (depending on Turbo) have been seen by simply bolting the S1 cams in. Designed for a rev range of 3000-7500rpms, these cams work well on the stock valve springs.
Stage 2 cams are for the Evolution X shooting to eclipse the 600HP mark. GSC power-Division has seen gains of 20-60whp (depending on which turbo you are running). These 274/274 cams require upgraded springs and retainers. GSC is currently developing springs for the 4B11T Evolution X.

GSC Beehive springs for the 2008-2012 Mitsubishi Evolution X feature some of the most impressive manufacturing techniques in the industry. GSC beehive spring uses an ovate wire which utilizes advanced material heat treatment methods for superior load loss capabilities. This gives the springs the highest level of spring load retention while still maintaining good fatigue throughout the life of the spring. The retainer side of the valve springs have a smaller diameter to greatly reduce coil spring surging and improve valve control even at extreme RPM levels. Each new design is tested to 9,000RPMS so you can rest assure that you have the best possible valve spring set available on the market. Titanium retainers are included.

Continuously variable intake and exhaust valve timing allows tuners to achieve great power gains and driveability from the 4B11-T. This will be a popular engine for motorsport applications for quite some time. The benefits gained from installing Kelford Cams in 4B11-T engines are already widely recognised.
Utilising ultramodern design principles, casting techniques and state of the art CNC grinding, these camshafts will again lead the way in EVO engine development and as with the 4G63 platform, Kelford will continue product innovation.

The ARP Head Studs for the Evolution X are constructed of a premium grade 8740 alloy that is rated far superior to aircraft quality. This alloy is heat-treated to 190,000 psi for complete heat penetration. Following heat-treat, each stud is centerless ground to make it as close to perfectly concentric as possible. This procedure involves about ten very slight cuts and results in an exceptionally straight part. Because ARP studs are manufactured to such exacting tolerances, you will note that gaskets and cylinder heads literally glide into position and are perfectly aligned, something that will not happen with inferior quality head studs. ARP studs are thread rolled after heat-treat, which gives them about 1000% (that is ten times) better fatigue strength than those studs that are threaded prior to heat-treatment.

Essential for high performance engine builds, heavy duty head studs reduce cylinder head movement in high boost or high compression engines optimising cylinder head to block sealing. Cosworth Ultra High Performance Head Studs are manufactured from H11 tool steel with 260,000psi tensile strength and come complete with nuts and washers. Manufactured with hex broach end for ease of installation.
Additionally, genuine Cosworth head studs utilize a base seating feature to evenly distribute maximum load on the stud and not the threads. This feature is typically found only in high level race engines.

Cosworth High Performance Head Gaskets are engineered to seal in power under the most demanding conditions. Constructed from stainless steel with a folded stopper layer, each application features superior sealing compared to conventional multi-layer steel gaskets. Additionally, Cosworth High Performance Head Gaskets are manufactured from pre-coated die cut stainless steel resulting in uniform coating distribution and consistent shape.

HKS Drag Metal Head Gasket Kit utilized and designed specifically for drag racing engines. The durability is enhanced to handle the boost pressure up to 200kPa (2kg/cm2) maintaining the surface pressure and preventing gas leakage. This is a grommet-type gasket.

As a multivalve piston technology leader, Wiseco pistons feature specially designed valve pockets, complex dome and crown shapes, stainless steel gas nitride rings and optimized skirt profiles. All Wiseco sport compact pistons also come standard with their proprietary ArmorGlide skirt coating material for reduced friction, freeing up additional horsepower. From Drag to Endurance CP pistons have proven their quality in the racing community. These pistons for the 2008-2012 Evo X are avialable in 86mm stock bore, 86.5mm w/ 0.5 overbore, or 87.0mm w/ 1.0mm overbore and retain a 9.0 compression ratio. These pistons are designed for high horsepower applications and are much stronger then OEM due to the forging process CP uses. The CP pistons for the Evo X 4B11 are an excellent choice for your engine build.
CP offers optional coatings to enhance the effectiveness of your pistons. The top coating is designed to reflect heat into the combustion chamber, thereby increasing exhaust gas velocity and greatly improving scavenging potential. The skirt coating offers additional lubricant in times of extreme heat or heavy wear situations. The coating is designed to reduce friction on the skirt by providing a buffer to the cylinder. Coating options are applied to the entire set and add 4-6 weeks to the order time.

The piston is one of the most important components within the engine. It can be subjected to directional change up to 285 times every second and must withstand acceleration forces of 8,500 Gs. Cosworth high performance forged pistons are designed and engineered to withstand this type of punishment and still perform. All Cosworth pistons are manufactured using the same methods as our Formula One pistons and include features such as anti-scuff skirt coating, ultra-strong pins, polished top and patented anti-detonation bands. Additionally, each application uses a unique forging to minimize weight and ensure the strongest possible piston.

Manley pistons are machined of high strength 2618 material. Each design is lightweight yet robust enough to deliver long service life. Offset wrist pin design is utilized for quiet start-ups. Perfect ring groove to skirt squareness is achieved through our unique "one fixturing" manufacturing method that assures maximum horsepower. All pistons come with moly coated skirts. Round wire locks, premium chrome moly wrist pins, and premium steel top ring sets from Total Seal are included with every kit at no additional charge. 9310 alloy upgraded wrist pins are available.

Manley has been in business since 1966 producing aftermarket and OEM engine internals, supplying such cars as the Ford GT. Manley's premier connecting rod series is the Turbo Tuff line which was designed to be the best money can buy. Manley Performance is synonymous with winning and their products power some of the fastest cars around. Turbo Tuff I Beam Rods: Manley Turbo Tuff I Beam Rods are made using forged 4340 aircraft quality vacuum degassed material. Manley Turbo Tuff rods are machined in house, in the USA, to ensure the highest quality product. Each rod is shot-peened after machining and magnafluxed. The bores are round with no taper and these rods use APR 2000 cap screws for ultimate strength.

Brian Crower rods for the 4B11 engine are made from 4340 billet steel. All Brian Crower rods are designed for high horsepower forced induction and high-revving naturally aspirated engines. Manufactured in state-of-the-art CNC machining centers, Brian Crower rods are a high-precision choice for your Evo X. These are full sets of four (4) rods including aluminum bronze bushings. BC offers bRods with ARP2000 fasteners or custom 625+ rods and ARP625+ fasteners.


K1 TECHNOLOGY RODS


K1

K1 Technologies connecting rods are quality built from billet 4340 steel for superior strength in high horsepower applications. K1 has also called upon the experts at ARP fasteners to design special K1 proprietary rod bolts with asymmetrical threads to equally load each thread when under pressure. K1 rods are shot peened for improved fatigue life and are finished in the USA using only state of the art Sunnen hones. K1 rod housing bore tolerances of +/- .000050in (50 millionths) match some of the tightest accepted tolerances in the industry. All K1 rod sets are weight-matched to +/- 1 gram and boxed with the individual rotating, reciprocating, and total weights conveniently noted for balancing. A special wrist pin bushing material is also used with these assemblies offering optimal friction reduction.

Carrillo connecting rods are forged and use only the strongest materials to ensure they will hold massive amounts of power. These rods are for enthusiasts that require the absolute best and will not compromise on quality.
Carrillos's Pro-Super A beam (Pro-SA) rods are lighter than the traditional H-beam style rod, yet still unbelieveably strong. Pro-Super A beam rods bridge the gap between Pro-H and standard Pro-A rods, designed for use in mid to high horsepower and high boost turbocharged and supercharged applications. Pro-Super A beam rods allow for more horsepower and higher RPMs with the advantage of a reduced windage design. Pro-Super A beam rods for the Evo X ship with standard 3/8th inch WMC cap bolts and are rated to 800whp, they are great for cars that see both street and race driving.
The H-beam rod has become the industy standard design for high-performance applications. Considering the best overall performance of the part, combined with the least amount of weight, the H-beam is Carrillo's strongest, most durable design available. Carrillo H-beam rods are recommended for race applications where no compromise in performance is possible. Pro-H rods for the Evo X available with 3/8th inch cap bolts in either standard WMC or Carrillo specific design which can be retorqued as many times as you want and will not need to be replaced. These rods are for 1000+whp race only machines and are not optimal for street use.

ACL's main bearings are made of a softer metal so that you don't wear out your crank or engine block. Additionally, a thin layer of oil lubricates the connection between the bearings and the crank allowing the crank to "float" and reduce wear. Proper support via main bearings is crucial to prevent oscillations and wear that can damage the crankshaft and other components as the motor moves further out of balance.
When doing rods and pistons, it's a good idea to replace the rod bearings as well. Proper support via main bearings is crucial to prevent oscillations and wear that can damage the crankshaft and other components if the motor should move out of balance. ACL's high quality rod bearings will prevent fatigue, failure, and reduce drivetrain stress through their durable and strong design.
ACL thrust washers are an often overlooked component of rebuilds. They prevent the crankshaft from moving around, thus keeping it in line with all of the other critical moving engine parts. It also helps the crankshaft to better stand up to stresses from clutch and flywheel operation.

Engine bearings are one of the most vital components within an engine and are often overlooked when considering high performance upgrades. Performance engineered, multi-layer bearings generate less heat than normal bearings by reducing friction.
