Ive decided on getting the Ultimate Racing exhaust as well. I'll probably be ordering as soon as I see the dual setup, in order to avoid regrets or what not.

But my main concern is one I never thought I'd have: So many options!

I want a car that's louder than stock, but not droney loud.

I like a nice sounding, semi loud car. Notice the "nice sounding". Also that it's enjoyable inside and not droney.

Mini Muffler Test pipe
Resonated Test Pipe
or
HFC with no options onhe test pipe?

Only reason Im considering the HFC (I live in FL, no emissions) is that I know Ill be moving in about a year or so for graduate school and I have no idea where Im going to go. So there's a chance if I get into a school in a state with emissions, I'll have to replace the downpipe most likely.

Any ideas or suggestions? Whats the difference between Resonated and Mini Muffler pipe, noise and drone wise?

I have the downpipe, resonated test pipe and single catback and its louder than stock but no drone and a cop wont look at you. The resonated pipe will be alittle louder tham the mini muffler I would think.

Ultimate Racing is an amazing company to deal with. I have their mini-muffler TP and the DP on my X connected to a Greddy Ti-C cat back. For those of you that don't know, Greddy chose to neck down the pipe from 3" to 2.5" just before the cat for just over an inch.

This really annoyed me since the system was 3" everywhere else so I shot an email to Ultimate racing to see if they could make me a 4 inch piece of tubing welded to a flange like they use on their other products so i could chop out the 2.5 and weld in this piece to make it a full 3" system.

That same day they got back with me and had my custom piece shipped out the very next day. This was all done so fast and for an amazing price for a custom piece.

These guys are amazing for quality and customer service! I highly recommend them to any of you!

U-R FTW!!!! you should of just ran the U-R exhaust system as well instead of chopping up your other one. Hopefully they will have the O2 housing cuz i need it shipping out by monday the latest. But you really cant be the quality and price from U-R. And there is a evo x hitting 10.77 in the 1/4 with some U-R parts yaa.

Please PM pricing shipped to 76643 for the following:
- 02 Housing Downpipe
- Resonated Test Pipe
- Single exit Catback Exhaust w/ mini-muffler midpipe

Also, what do you know about the maintenance notice Mitsubishi posted about using aftermarket intakes? According to my dealer, using an air intake system like yours could cause problems...any ideas on that? I would like to get the intake system, but the dealer's warning has me concerned.

Thanks,

Luffy

Exhaust differences?

Darryl, could you answer two questions for me?

How much lighter is your single exhaust compared to the dual setup?

Which one flowed better on the dyno...? Did you do a back to back? I like the look of the dual, but if the single is lighter and makes more power, then I have no choice...

If I recall the single was 21-22 lbs. The dual is about 35 lbs. Sorry, we did not do any back to back dyno pulls to compare the two. Both utilize the same midpipe, and the muffler sections are both 100% straight through. Shouldn't be much of a difference at all.
