Different turbo options on the kits...
Wondering if you could provide anymore details on the different turbos avail in your kits? I was interested mainly in spoolup on a stock 2.0 and which ones compared to "other" turbos out there in terms of power on pump vs race gas. Sorry if this has been answered before, but I couldn't really find alot of info on the different ones. For referance I am looking for something between a 50 trim and a 35r... My goals are not too laggy, but I am not really concerened about lower/mid power. I want something that is quick on the highway, and for drag racing. Full weight IX mr I would like low 11's pump, high 10's on race.
Thanks

We have three great options between the 50 trim and 35R in our T3 lineup that will help you reach your goals. The 50 trim is a 54mm compressor and the 35R is a 61mm compressor. We have 56mm, 58mm and 60mm compressor options in between. Power ratings are 545hp, 565hp and 590hp respectively. Those are supposed to be crank figures though most EVO owners are getting VERY close to Precision's crank numbers with wheel horsepower figures. Because they are so close in size the spoolup differences won't be extreme though the power numbers don't vary too drastically either. The 54mm compressor has been very popular of late because it spools very similarly to a 50 trim (in a hurry!) and is capable of just over 500whp and high 10s on race fuel with good driving. It seems to be a killer balance between spool and power and is very well suited for 2.0 liter EVOs with your goals.
If you are leaning more toward highway and drag racing than much in the way of real streetable performance I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the largest of the three, or even a 35R. The good news is that any turbocharger you select will be 100% interchangeable with the others so if you change your mind about your goals later, it's not a problem with a quick turbo swap.
I'll be posting the full release of our T3 kits shortly both here in our section and in the Engine/Turbo/Drivetrain section so keep an eye out for that for more info. Don't hesitate to call if you'd like questions answered more quickly/more in depth. Thanks!
