Help, whats the best ets turbo kit for me?
Help, whats the best ets turbo kit for me?
Im having drop in pistons and rods (weisco and manley i beams) done in two weeks along with s1 cams.
i cant decide which one of your turbo kits will suit me best;
The 61 trim is closest to gt35r right and 58 trim is 3065 type?
as im staying 2 litre and the car will be run on pump gas most likely around 30 psi, i dont want the car to be too undrivable, it is just a weekend fun road car.
power goals id like to see at least 600 at the flywheel and over 500 ft'lb torque.
I have heard that the bigger the turbo the less torque il get, how true is this? torque means a lot to me so i might consider a smaller maybe 57trim if it means more torque.
Look forward to hearing from you
Thanks

Talk to Tom but I can tell you man......30 psi is going to be hard to accomplish on pump gas
. Pump and meth you can do 30 psi.

These guys know what they're talking about! Adding in meth or alcohol injection to the mix will get you safely to 30psi with pump fuel. At that boost pressure you're right on the line of where I'd recommend a 57 trim or 61mm (35R) for maximum compressor efficiency. With that in mind, to make those numbers while retaining fastest possible spool and transient response, it will take all that a 58 has to give. A 57 trim/58 will spool about 400-500RPM sooner with awesome transient response, but our 61mm kits are hitting full boost by 4800 which isn't at all unreasonable for a street driven EVO. The further "right" on the graph you move the peak torque, typically the lower it is in relation to your horsepower number. I'd welcome the opportunity to discuss your priorities over the phone so we can put first things first! Let me know if I can help
