BUT he should be respected because he makes good parts and has probably as a whole, contributed more than anyone else to DSM's
There is allot of people that contributed to the DSM and EVO. Respect is earned by how you treat your customers and how you carry yourself. Not just by #s you run

I don't think those pictures show enough cores and completed intercoolers.

Glad to be getting mine at my doorstep in the next day or so.

Does this have to be another love/hate Buschur vs everyone else again. There is about 3 already then the name Buschur comes up and all hell breaks loose. Can the simple questions be answered about what core ETS uses. Mainly the 3.5in and 4in cores since I believe thats what 90% people are running (I want the 3.5in come Christmas if santa is nice )

Thanks for the questions on the intercooler cores. We have our own cores but also use Garrett cores if customer mandated. Our current cores are our 4th generation design. For more info you can check out this page - http://www.extremeturbosystems.com/E.../articles.html

Please read this page, as it outlines how we arrived at the core design that we currently use. The core is our own design that we have manufactured to our specs just as other big names in the intercooler industry. We feel that our cores outperform all other cores in all aspects, with the exception of applications never seeing road speeds in excess of 35MPH or in situations when airflow to the radiator is unimportant. In these instances we will use a Garrett core. Cost is the same

Tom

no offense taken, but it still doesnt state what core he uses...i even went to the thread where Scorke was making his own intercooler using a Garrett core...

ETS has awesome products available for EVERYONE to check out. they make that well known. seems that they have made a living on custom fabrications and brought them to the Evo world for us to enjoy, and enjoy we have. thank you ETS...

Very interesting.....

Your custom core and the garret core are the same price. Can you show us the difference between the two?

Also since you do custom fabing.... is it possible to get something bigger than stock but not as big as your 3" FMIC?

I'm looking to go from stock to something not as thick and heavy as the 3" version. I would still like it to fill the EVO9 front bumper unlike the off center stock unit.

The main difference between the Garrett core and ETS core is flow characteristics to the radiator. Our core is what we feel to be the best given minimal compromise in any area of function. The design characteristics of each of the major manufacturers mentioned in our full intercooler tech link were taken into consideration in the design of our current core (our 4th generation as alluded to in the intercooler tech link). Because the Garrett is a very good core, the biggest issue we've encountered is airflow to the radiator. Most of the applications for which we build intercoolers and intercooler kits put the intercooler directly in front of the radiator. A large majority of our customers do street drive their vehicles so this is a very important feature to consider in maintaining coolant temperatures. Our external fin pack does a better job of promoting that flow while retaining the heat dissipation properties necessary for the core to be efficient.

I'll try to get a picture of our intercooler side by side with a Garrett for comparison sake

We can definitely build you a custom intercooler that would fill the bumper opening of your IX and still drop a few pounds from our 3" unit. The core would likely be 22x10.5x3" but would flow like an 11.5" tall unit from other manufacturers due to both top and bottom of the core being charge tube edges. Our bare core in that size weighs ~13lbs. Get a hold of me if you're interested!

Yes, pricing would be similar to our current 3" intercooler
