What brand core do you use?

What brand is the ETS core? Is it a spearco, garret, bell? Do you have any specs on the core itself, I mean other then the size or how much hp its rated for?

Thanks

^ They make their own intercooler core and the hp is rated for will depend on the size of the intercooler.

The bigger the intercooler, the more horsepower it can efficiently flow and cool down. It's all about the design of the intercooler as well as some other things.

Why wouldn't they tell me? I'm not going to go buy it and make my own if that's what your implying. Knowing the type of core can offer insight on how well it'll perform, aside from cfm and what not. I've heard of many cores that state xxx amount of horsepower and flow but don't perform worth a lick, I'm not saying theirs will do this, I'm just stating what I've heard about OTHER cores. I'm not knocking their product, hell i'm considering purchasing the 3.5" for my own setup.

They use 2 cores 1 is the garret core and the other is a core that is between the spearco and the garret. I was talking to ETS JR about this just today hes going to get on here later tonight and go more into why he uses the 2 cores

I did not mean to be rude, but I would think this info is somewhat of a trade secret. It would be interesting to know what cores most of the big names use, but do not get your hopes up, that is all I am saying. User reviews, with similar set ups, is going to be your best bet on deciding what route to go with.

Cores are no trade secret, what are you talking about. It is always good for the consumer to know what kind of core is behind the intercooler. Now the construction is what makes it really stand out.

Whats awesome about ETS is they do everything in-house. To cutting the cores to welding them together. They can make about anything you might need.

I agree, I don't think its really a secret. Theres quite a few intercooler companies that tell their customer's what brand of cores they use in their descriptions.

Interesting info, and I suppose I was mistaken. Now the question everyone has been waiting for; I wonder what cores do the infamous ebay vendors use, i.e. SSAuto, etc?

Also, PTE sells Garrett cores, as most people know. The core we use for our Deluxe and Standard FMIC's cost $386.99 each if you buy it from them.

The race FMIC core we use costs $499.99 each if you buty those from them direct.

We charge $659 for the standard FMIC, build the tanks, inlet/outlet, weld them on, build the brackets, weld them on and supply couplings for it. That's $272.01 more than the cores cost, doesn't seem like a bad deal to me.

The Race FMIC we sell for $759, same deal, build the tanks, inlet/outlet, weld them on, build the brackets, weld them on and supply couplings for it. That's $259.01 more than the core costs, seems like an even better deal. I don't see how someone is going to justify obtaining the parts, cutting them, welding them etc. for a savings of about $260......

I'll stay out of the thread now.

Have a nice day.
not to start anything, nor am i a buschur fanboy, and i have no idea how buschur even got in this thread. but before you start talking with a negative energy towards someone- you should make you know that you are stating facts.

Yeah Buschur makes a good I/C. as most everything he makes is good. I'm not a "fanboy" either. I hate fanboys actually lol. Actually my experience with buschur is he was kinda rude the one time I met him lol. BUT he should be respected because he makes good parts and has probably as a whole, contributed more than anyone else to 4G63's
