I'm in the market for a new intake and checking out the ETS one. I'm sure some guys here have it so please post some pics of it installed. Thanks!

Go to the ETS website...click your way thru till you get to the Evo intake stuff, and there are like 6 pics at the bottom you can open and see the intake with the upper piping too.

Nice kit. Will this work with the stock uicp and MR DV? Eventually, I'll upgrade the uicp but for now I'll stick with the stock one.

Yeah, it will work. The uicp piping they offer in a stock route, so it will def. fit the stock uicp. If you change your uicp to their "short route" you will have to pick up a re-circ pipe for your stock dv. A tune would be recommended too.

Here's a couple of the pictures

The kit will fit perfectly with your stock BOV and UICP so no worries there!

Tom--

I have been told by a few individuals that the stock Plastic intake pipe has many advantages...how the air flows, the ribbed pipe helping flow etc...also that it is better in terms of keeping the heat inside the intake pipe at more of a minimum vs. an aluminum or steel pipe....

Do you think this is a bunch of crapola or is there any truth in these statements I've been told?

Thanks Tom

I'm not sure who'd tell you that the stock "ribbed" intake tube would outflow a straight through 3" pipe with only a single very gradual bend but that is definitely not our opinion As far as heat retention....the theoretical difference in temperature before the turbocharger is less than 1 degree Fahrenheit and about .25 degrees Fahrenheit at the turbo outlet. The best option for intake piping material would be stainless steel because of its heat rejection properties in an otherwise hot engine bay. We can build our system in any material of your choice though, so you can make the choice based on your preference

Okay...thanks Tom...

it has been awhile since it was explained to me about the whole stock ribbed plastic intake pipe benefits issue....I guess I'll have to hear it again so I can explain it better and then get your take.

anyways...no rest for the ETS weary...working the day after XMAS!!! Same here for me...but as you can tell I'm not really working

I don't think those "individuals" were referring to a turbo charger. I think they were referring to the Trojan ribbed rubbers vs. a regular rubber.
