Difference between 3" and 3.5" TBE?

Im interested in getting a tbe from ETS because he here such great things. But my main question, with all bolts on, and stock turbo, what is the power difference between a 3" and a 3.5"... I can guess its going to be much louder, and thats fine with me. So what about power? any significant gains for the extra money?

Oh, and yes i searched, but didnt find what I as looking for.

I have to agree.....just buy the 3.5 in exhaust, everyone knows that horsepower is addicting and you will sooner or later go to a bigger turbo, and then you will not have to worry about getting a bigger, more flowing exhaust .

Just dont go for the 4 inch exhaust. When I started a thread and said I was thinking about getting one, everyone thought i was crazy.

For some reason that extra 0.5 inch between the 3.5 and the 4 is only for drag cars and supras. Yet the 3.5 is fine on stock turbo?

Go figure.

I would consider going with the 3" exhaust UNLESS you want your exhaust to be even louder than the 3". You will see no gains with the 3.5" exhaust at all on the stock turbo nor would you see gains unless you are making some serious power. The 3" exhaust flows plenty, I opted for the 3" exhaust on my setup and I'm already making some pretty decent power.

What turbo do you plan on upgrading to? A 42R? I'm not trying to sway you away from the 3.5" by any means, I am simply telling you that a 3" exhaust flows plenty for most every street application, believe it or not. Regardless, get which ever one you prefer.

3" will be fine unless you plan on going to a huge turbo like 37 or higher

The 3.5" system is aimed at cars planning in excess of 600whp, but with turbo cars there is no such thing as "too big" because no restrction is the idea. You can have more than you need for the current state of tune, but that's not always a bad thing

to big will not lose any power just make more noise. In the case of the ets 3.5 The noise gets alot more aggressive while still staying at nice in cabin level. The 3.5 has a very nice over all sound and a great fitment and look. Should you go with it over a 3inch? That is all up to you, what you like and look for in sound and look. Jake you will not be sad if you go with the 3.5 it is by far the best exhaust i have ever experienced in an evo. And truthfully it is my second favorite exhaust of all time, the first sits in my shop and might never go on a car, but they is no way i would ever sell it.
