EVO X Downpipe with 02 Dump

I was looking at your exhaust products and see that you make a downpipe for the X that replaces the 02 housing and dumps the exhaust gasses. Have you done dyno testing to see the gains of an 02 dump as compared to a closed 02 housing? Increased spool, better powerband, more peak hp? Or is the main point of an 02 dump to make noise.

Thanks for the input.

We haven't done a back to back test using the recirculation down pipe and switching to the vent to atmosphere (VTA) down pipe. Both downpipes are going to net similar results. The main purpose for separating the exhaust gases from the wastegate gases is to prevent any type of turblence that will happen when the wastegate opens and closes. By having the exhaust separated we achieve a smooth flow with no extra turbulence which gives us a higher flowing down pipe.

The VTA down pipe will have a much louder exhaust note under wide open throttle due to all the excess exhaust bypassing the turbo and venting out the dump tube.

The Recirculating down pipe vents back into the exhaust down stream to prevent turbulence and carries a stock sounding exhaust note.

Thanks!

Michael
