Uh... guys? You know that PhotoShopped Evo IX weird pic that someone posted in early september... well I saw a full pic of that car at the dealer this week!
I kid you not!!! It was a full res. pic, real photograph. It was part of a new Mitsubishi screensaver they ran on the service computer!!! I might begin to think this is for real...
At first I thought it was a nicely modded RA, but when I read the legend it said Mitsubishi Evo IX... And BTW, it looked like standard Mitsubishi promo. stuff to me (and I'm a graphic designer). What do you guys think? Does anybody else has any more info on this?
Also, I'd like to add that two of the salesman said they'd receive an Evo at the dealer in the spring... but I'm not quite sure if they meant they'd have an american model to play with or if they'd actually get one to sell, which would mean it was legal in Canada, which would mean an Evo IX or 8 1/2 (upgraded bumper)...
Now, don't flame me! I'm just communicating what I've seen and heard... it might all just be a bunch of bullsh*t for all I know.

pretty interesting find... i definitely believe you, but I still think that any real good information on this may be a way off, at least for the USDM Evo 9. I figure that we will start seeing stuff about the JDM 9 pretty soon.

I looked on the web... that's the closest thing I found to what I saw at the dealer. It looks like the same car, but the one I saw didn't have the same bumper (no huge foglamps)...

If you read what I just posted with the pic, the one I saw at the dealer does not have the big fog lamps... it looks much cleaner.
I personnaly think this car looks great (the one I saw) and I think it would sell very well...

the front, although a little different, isn't really changed all that much except i think that the triangle between the hood and front bumper is gone.
The rear however is much different and it looks ok but I do like the diffuser or what I think is a diffuser??

Cool find...
I have to say though...as a designer myself (product design)...the car manufacturers have the best software for rendering capabilities...Alias, Brazil final render, etc...I've seen some renderings from the top companies and its hard to believe that they are just digital.
Not to say that what you didn't see might indeed be a pic...but even the ones posted above with the red border are photoshopped.

The yellow one is not the car I saw on the photograph...
As for telling the difference between CG and the real stuff, it often depends on the resolution of the image you look at. The lesser the resolution, the harddest it is to see the difference. That pic i found on the net is such a bad scan of a japaneses magazine, that it's a bit hard to make out the real from the CG part... but I'd say the car is CG. Nevertheless, it's the best representation of the pic I saw at the dealer... which was a real photograph of a car. It was 1024 x 768, and at this res. I don't mistake a rendering from a actual photograph.
