like many i pre-ordered an MR edition, mine is going to white and i already ordered a few things for the car. I have MR tails, black UK MR badges and i really want to paint the sides of the spoiler black like the uk version MR. I like the way the car looks with the painted spoiler.what do you think? yay or nay?

 

I like it painted. But many do not. Go with what you want.

 

I like the way it looks also with the black tail. Mitsu should have made all the MR's with a "special" colored tail to distinguish it from the GSR.

Thats the only reason I like the Gray - when you see one, you'll KNOW it's an MR.

 

i like that idea 2 , plus the grey is a new color and only the mr with have it. at least for now

 

yes get it painted. i would get it the same color as the bbs

 

how do you guys like the door handles painted? I probably going to paint the spoiler for sure, once i saw the Uk version i was hooked, even though my car is going to be white.

 

i would not like the door handles painted, but do what you like. dont get 2 ricey on modding your mr!

 

I would just replace the white spoiler with a Graphite spoiler. Then, eBay your white spoiler.

BTW: you totally bogarted my idea about a white MR with black "Evolution VIII" trunk badge and UK MR lights. Some window tint and a CF hood will make that biatch SICK looking

 

Where can i get a graphite spoiler from, i though it would be easier to just paint the sides black?

Yeah im hooked on the look, i always wanted a white car and when i saw the uk version i was like damn that is sick, but then i heard the usmd version was not getting the headlights, tails, badges and color matched spoiler i was like, im a get it anywayz. I just wish i could get the digital climate controls.
Im on the fence still about the cf hood.

 

In the BMI "factory Fighters" DVD they show a white MR - It has the black tail. It does look sick - especially with the GM BBS wheels. The door handles were black like on the RS.
You have to see this DVD if your into it - I got mine off E-bay - came in a few days.

Only if the US Spec MR came with the colored tail, it would set it off.

Don't paint it. Sand it down to the CF and hit it again with a protective clear coat so the whole wing looks like the CF centerpiece. The base piece you are talking about painting is CF stock too. They're just pained over. Someone on the site has sanded their wing down and clearcoated te CF, to make a full CF wing appear. It looked great. And still provides the same look, except all CF rather than painted.

EDIT: I don't know if that made any sense. In other words, all the CF is exposed. Whole wing is CF.

 

SilverEvo8owner: I saw that thread, with the sanded down Evo 8 wing. It did look good. However, painting the part is much easier/less work than sanding down the wing and clear coating it. I guess it's all about what you're looking for in the end.

Only the center section is carbon fiber. If you sand it down, you wont find cf under the paint...
