5,000 rpm rev limiter
thats right - the new mr will have its rev limit set a 5k rpm when the clutch is pressed. you are really going to have to time your launches at the track.
yeah thats gay how they did that, i think its to help warantee the car so people dont burn up their clutch. Im sure there are going to be companies that will build something to override it, im not worried.

i guess the mr is really going to be set up for a daily driver car
Doesn't this mean there will be a switch that is activated by depressing the clutch pedal much like your brake lights are activated by your brake pedal? All you'd have to do is remove the switch or perhaps clip a wire. I doubt it will take MR owners more than 48 hours to figure out how to get around this one.

not sure about how other drive, but it seems like it is smarter to drop the clutch at 6-7000 rpm and let the tires spin a little rather than dump it at 5000rpm and bog, letting the driveline take all the abuse..... ?
ever notice how F1 cars do a nice big burnout out of the pits.... they don't bog....
o well.... hopefully the 5k is enough to get the Evo out of the blocks quickly.... probalby need to slip the clutch alittle.

Hey guys down he in australia we had the same problem. But a member on this forum solved the problem and its simple.
Its only a little switch that you pull out from underneath the cluch in the car. You can pull it out or have in as you please. If you want to know more about procedure i could ask the memeber to write up somethimg about it.
BTW the 5000 rev limiter sounds awsome, coz it just holds there and bounces.

Mitsu is taking the wrong approach to this voiding the warranty issue. Rather than embrace the car they have and all the support we give them, they nickle and dime us on their Flagship car. ALL B.S. Imagine if you went out and bought a Ford GT and could not run it or had limits to when you could launch it. They need to take all this publicity their car is getting and ride it out. Maybe this will help vamp their company. I am really disappointed to say the least that they would limit a car like the MR and even though the bypass will be rather simple, I am SURE they will have their techs look for the bypass just to VOID out the warranty they claim is the best in the industry.
F1 cars need to do a big burnout of the pits to help get their' tires warmed up. If you notice at the start of the race where launch always matters, they aren't trying to spin their tires. Spinning tires does not help a launch.
I've heard of people feathering and then releasing the clutch at below 5000 rpm in the current Evos for a good launch, and it doesn't take too much out of the drivetrain for them. Seeing how 05s get full boost at only 2500 rpm now, I don't think the 5000 rpm will be a problem with launching. Don't go do this stuff on the street though, and then complain to mitsu when your clutch goes and you never even got a chance to track your car.
