Evo MR on Best Motoring Int'l 12 "Factory Fighters"
I watched it a couple nights ago. Of course theirs is different than ours, but it was very interesting
They really loved the suspension. THey showed it doing 260 kph on the long banks and said it was very stable. They went through a slalom at an insane amount of speed with no problems. (Then they did it in an STi V-limited and hit a cone,
)
In the challenge battle, the STi Spec-C won, but the MR 6-speed had the lowest lap time - in the 4 second range at Tsukuba. The 6-speed was pulling on the 5-speed in the straightaway.
They then did two very interesting comparisons.
First they ran through the slalom with the stock MR, and then they put an 8 lb piece of rubber on the roof to simulate a 'normal' roof (basically, the aluminum roof saves about 8 lbs IIRC). I can't remember the times, but it was too close to call and the heavier roof may have actually been faster.
Then they did a lap at Tsukuba with the BBS wheels, and with the regular Enkeis (20 lbs! I thought they were lighter). The lap times were within a tenth, which may be within the variance of a given driver from one lap to the next.
Honestly, it made me want an MR (except for the part where we don't get the one they get). But I would still rather have a Spec-C
And I'm happy with the WRX for now. Just gotta become a better driver.
Just thought some people would find this interesting.

yeah the BBS rims, bilstein shocks, lighter rims.. etc will only give you an edge on the track.... people will always say drivers win races, not cars.... and i dont mean the drag strip, that doesnt show driving skills.. on a roadcourse or autox, the slight edge of the MR wont make a difference if the GSR driver is a better drive
