That's the Colt Evolution, supposedly a replacement of the Lancer Evolution in the future WRC competition. There has been rumor about Mitsubishi switching to the smaller Colt platform for the upcoming rally car, to better compete with Peugeot 206, Ford Focus, and the like.

 

What is Mitsubishi thinking????

its not the evo but its not the same frame and everything, i saw this thing awhile ago on tv , I think its ****ing ugly. but if it is Im glad I got the 8.

These are hot hatchbacks. People will go crazy if Mitsu can offer a smaller variant of the EVO at a much lower or equivalent cost. It could also help Mitsu sell smaller cars, a segment they have never really been competitive in. I personally like the looks and would love to have a lightweight and fast hatchback. Plus it will save me on gas money, well maybe not with my lead foot.

 

Imagine the 4G63 in a tiny car like that. Awesome power to weight ratio!

That is not going to replace the EVO, i read about 5 months ago, The article was called the Pocket Evo, it has 250 hp, w/ a 1.8 Turbo AWD, and it is a Hatch . Have not heard anything about it and the WRC, mitsubishi can't even afford good drivers let alone a whole new car!
