CONGRATS on your purchase! I just got the same color 04 evo w/ SS&L for 30,150 OTD... but your 05 has the ALU roof and door beams plus the front diff that my 04 doesn't so you got a pretty good deal i think.

Good luck and enjoy!

No ALU roof on the GSR in 05. Just the RS and the MR.

yes, i was on audiworld.. and unfortunately, i don't have the pics anymore. my s4 was STOLEN from me just over a year back.

evo_z: well, i could try again, i mean, the guy did cut me a deal for just a couple hundred bucks under sticker. and it IS an '05 model, i dunno if he would be willing to sell it at anywhere near invoice considering how new this car is.. i mean, i could see it in a few months down the road, but i'm not that patient, and i believe that the utility will more than make up for the extra money i'm paying now.. just like how it justifies the purchase of buying an '03. thanks for the advice and i'll see if i can cut a better deal when i actually go back to cut a deal.

and yes.. i think it's a ripoff that you HAVE to get the SSL package which is actually $500-600 more than last year in order to get HIDs or foglights. They really should make each individual object a separate option. I actually really wanted the infinity sound system, but not the leather seats and not the sunroof... i offered to pay more for just the sound system, but the dude said no. oh well, enough of the knit-picking... i could barely sleep last night and i haven't been able to wipe this stupid grin off of my face.

I actually really wanted the MR, but something came up in my life and I couldn't make the stretch for the increased price, even if it was only a few thousand dollars. I'm a student who happens to have run into some cash, but I'm still a student and a few thousand bucks can stretch a looong way. =p

::edit::

Although by that reasoning i should have gone for an older model, but I couldn't find any stock ones in good condition or low mileage in my area. I also got a pretty decent deal, imo, for an '05.

Congrats! I would have waited for the 05 too, if I didnt' get a good deal on my car, 04WW Evo... Or so I would like to think I did. did they show you any pics of the Wicked White? i have an idea of how the Electric Blue will look, but no idea of the wicked white color. Just wanna see the slight differences with the Weightless white.

I wouldnt be bragging about getting a $200. discount off MSRP. Im a car salesman my self and love guys like you, but as a fellow evom member Im telling you the dealer can do much better especially if you ordered the car rather than taking one in stock. Remember, until you actually take the vehicle off the lot, the deal is NOT sealed.

ya you can always get a better price until you're at invoice..but anyways..I would say..and this is just my opinion..that you get an 04..there are plenty of them still on lots and they will be trying to get rid of them to get the 05's in there..and then you will DEFINITELY be able to get invoice price..AND you will get the HID's with leveling..and you can get the sunroof without the whole package if i'm correct (not sure how the package worked with the 04's i have an 03)..but with my 03 I got it as they wanted to get the 04's in a couple months..and i got mine for 28 k, 30 k out the door..so you can definitely do better and even get the HID"s with the 04..and it will still have no miles on it..so maybe just something to think about..but if you go with the 05 ur still gettin an EVO so congrats man

happy to hear about your new car man! I honestly liked how the '03 didn't have a bunch of options and packages... it made things much more simple... I guess they added all these packages to try and get more people interested (sound system, leather)

Enjoy that car!!!

hmm... so i can get a better deal, eh? well, i haven't heard anyone getting anything close to invoice on an '05.. i could talk to the dealer and see if he can cut me a better deal. it's actually my first time dealing with a car salesman, both of my other cars were sold by private parties.
