Should I trade in my mint condition 17K mile 911 speedster(800 made) for an even swap with an MR(silver). I previously owned an 03 evo VIII but sold it due to many transfer case failures. Do the newer evo's have similar tc issues? What would you do? I figure since mitsu only made 1000 MR's it should retain a little more value over the stock evo...right? Give me your opinions.

Two completely different cars. If your gonna keep it as a collector keep the 911. If you want to have a **** load of fun get the mitsu. Or keep the 911 and buy the evo anyway. Hum... that third choice sounds like a winner.
Don't even think about trading the Speedster in at a dealer. You can do way better selling it privately. How do I know? 30 years of collecting and selling Porsches. And which car would I rather have as a daily driver and track car at Mid Ohio? The MR, hands down. Just my 2cents. I have 17 events on my silver evo at Mid oHio and Vir. No clutch or trans etc problems. If you are going to drag race the car you will have the problems with them.
Are you crazy? Do not trade in the 911 speedster, these are very rare cars and will be worth more and more $$ as time goes on, especially with the low miles that yours has. I have seen these sell for $40,000+ with higher miles. If you trade it on an MR they should give you some cash on the deal.

Well, I figure I would let you guys know that I wrecked the GTO last night. I came around a corner a little too hot and a deer junmped in front of me causing me to lose control and slam into a curb. I also took out three street signs which damaged the entire driver's side of the car. The entire rear suspension and diff. is destroyed as is the driver's front suspension components. Both front and rear bumpers were torn off of the car by the street signs. The rear of the car is definately twisted from the impact cause the trunk wont close and when it is held down the gaps are way off. If she's totalled maybe I will be able to get the MR and keep the porsche...my fingers are crossed.
PS I hit the curb square going about 30-40 mph. Both driver's side front and rear rims now stick out at about a 45 degree angle from the fenders...looks pretty funny actually.

Keep the 911. That is one of the best years ever built and the speedster version is very rare! I am an avid porsche fan and have driven several models...nothing compares to an air cooled 911, they are something special !
