this second grade evo vs. sti crap has got to stop already. if you dont have any comments or pics to post about the interior, dont post..

i'd like to see the interior as well. i for one, bought my car regardless of the interior compared to the sti.. but i would like to see a few more creature comforts such as automatic climate control and cruise control in the IX; especially when we're one of the only markets in the world deprived of them. just my .02

hmm... and you don't think the fact that you have an RS makes a difference. I think this wouldn't apply as much to the MR and GSR. I could say the opposite about the STi and the EVO as I have seen STi's take EVO's on the freeway. I think both can happen when someone just floors it on the freeway and doesn't shift to the right gear. So depending on the driver, both could win, it will especially go in the favor of who starts the races, as usually they are the ones more prepared. and WTF freeway racing is crap anyways. Its all about track racing, where stock for stock the STi will get destroyed.

ANyways, back on to interiors.

It all depends on your standards. Even though the STi has a better interior than the EVO, it still not a great one by any means. I don't expect great interiors from these cars, but the evo could use a little work in the way of the gauge bezel and the climate control dials. STi needs more oil.boost gauges etc.... better seats and things like that.

 

dude, you've inquired about a car for the past 1 and a half years. first you were going to get a b5 s4 (that you couldn't afford), then you got on this evo craze, then on audiworld you said you were going to get a 47k b6 audi s4. next you dogged the STi and now over here you are an STi NUT and prefer it over the evo.

It's not that I follow your history, but you just happen to post on two of the boards that I frequently read. You can't afford ANY of the cars that you speak of, and really have no right to b***h about the features that are (or not on) on the car. Just be happy with your GTi and save up some money to make that a fast car. You have a decent car there, but you need to close your mouth when it comes to ******* other people's stuff when your's isn't exactly up to par.

 

You got it all wrong. 1st of all, how do you figure I cant afford these cars? 2nd, I am not "*******" other peoples cars and yes you are a stalker so DO NOT deny it. This is a FORUM, therefore I can post, say, want whatever I like. IF I want a Geo today and a Lexus tomorrow, its NOT your place to judge me and say" You can't afford ANY of the cars that you speak of". WHO ARE YOU!!!

usually, when people think of sti vs evo, they AUTOMATICALLY think "sti is faster on straights but it understeers. evo will dominate in corners"...right?

have you guys seen the BMI vid where they basically do sti vs evo? the drivers (the guys that really know what they're doing) commented that they're basically the SAME; sti doesnt really start to fall back during twisties...so basically, it's just the stupid rumor and assumption that made evo seem MUCH better at corners and sti MUCH better on straights...

I know you can't because you have car envy, go to dealerships and NEVER purchase a car, you talk about these cars that you know nothing about, your pictures say you're in hs, and you bash every car that is opposite of the car that the forum is based on.

With that being said, I am someone who used to post on AWS4 boards and still somewhat post on AWOT. I've been through a 382whp B5 audi S4 and I do not come on boards to talk about the car I'm "dreaming" about getting. Finally I could careless about the interior of th IX, because that's not what the car is for.

I guess the point i'm trying to make is that you need to stop trolling, stop polling, and if you can actually afford (which I doubt) said cars go out and buy one. I'm officially done with this topic, because I don't want to come off as an internet basher. Good day sir.

 

umm...I am a dealer and I could afford any of these cars listed....hell.. I see them at the auctions all the time. But I am not happy with any of them. I am just still NOT excited for any of these cars. I hardly ever drive my GTI and that might be a reason I am not buying a car yet. I drive my DEMO's all the time and keep GTI miles on a min. HS??? I graduated 3 yrs ago.

 

and who cares if he changes his mind, there have been one or two days when i wished i had gottent hat white STi instead of my black evo. Granted thats 2 out of 130 but still, everyone has the right to explore their options...

If you've test driven the '03 STi vs the '03 Evo, the '03 STi feels slow. That is a fact. The '05 STis have been upgraded with better suspension and a steering rack - but I haven't driven one of those yet (or the MR) so I can't comment on those.

That aside, for people asking about interior pics... even if we DO see an interior pic with auto climate controls, it's most likely a JDM version that we're looking at. That means, that pic has no relevance to the USDM release later in the year.

 

now would be a greeeeeat time for someone with a hookup at mitsu of america to hook us up with some inside intel on those HVAC controls.

The 06 eclipse on the Mitsu Launch website seems to be getting some sort of climate control. But who knows what the evo will get, remember, its a performance vehicle-not a luxury vehicle. Be ready for more rough edges somewhere.

 

as it says in the evo 9 test drive link - the 9 will get only 281 hp - gonna have to wait for the 10 to break 300hp
but the 9 is coming 6 speed standard
