All righty then... since this is My Top-10 wish list.
Pay attention ... since the JDM STi Spec C outhandled the UK spec FQ300...
IMO it will be more important to win on the street (and AutoX + circuit) because the STi Spec C now has the edge there.
Wish List Evo X :- ..... KEEP FRONT HELICAL LSD to reduce understeer!... Then...
1. Add re-designed ACD to give more rear torque transfer (like DCCD of STi.)
How about like the old '80s UK Gartrac/Xtrac setup - 100% variable split?
2. Abolish/Scrap/Abandon AYC in ALL Evos...
It used to be a nice marketing tool, but that was nine years ago with the Evo 4.
Time for some new thinking... you're "beating a dead horse" with that idea IMO. If you must add electronic control... give me a RaceLogic or similar to adjust oversteer in the rain, and Traction Control for drag-racing. It's a damn site better for driver control.
Few "front line" Evos run AYC at competitive level in the WRC, club rallying, circuit racing, etc. For now 1.5:1 RS LSDs rule internationally... period. They're stronger, and give more consistent handling characteristics than even the Super AYC of the JDM and UK spec MR IMO.
Either use them universally to beat the Soobie Spec Cs or find something better
(TorSen/Quaife rear LSDs for road/AutoX use maybe?... and RS LSD for gravel?)
3. Howzabout revised Bilstein settings. The current MR is supposed to be about 30% softer on "jounce"(compression) but now the UK FQ340 is more "twitchy" than the previous RS, according to "testers". This also applies to the new UK limited-edition FQ400, which has the same Bilstein set-up.
4. Add adjustable front and rear anti-roll bars...period! + adjustable camber-plates!
Next... now we go for more Power
5. Howzabout 400+ WHP, and more TORQUE from the X's new "world" GDI engine; maybe with Mivec DOHC head and 2,400 cc (for torque)?
Better milage (GDI) plus more power (Mivec) and torque (2,400 cc) would be great!
6. Maybe "dual-injectors" (like APS uses now) to work with the Mivec head (extra fuel at higher rpm!) and revised "programmable" ECU (Xede anyone), or at least extra hi-po maps for drag use.
7. Add some 6-pot calipers in front (AP or Alcon would be nice, and how about water-cooled?) with 2-piece "ceramic" rotors to reduce warping, and 4-pot Brembos in the rear; with some Ferodo "2500" pads front and rear... and add a balance valve... who knows when I might get on a gravel road, or drive in the rain, eh! It's a damn sight safer than just relying on the ABS!
8. Now...put brakes in-board to reduce unsprung weight, for better handling, okay?
Last but not least... since this is MY wish-list...
9. Hey don't forget to get a better looking nose! That concept looks totally ugly! It looks like it has a busted nose, for Christ's sake! You guys designed all the Evos... surely you can bring back sexy agressive looks like a modern Evo 6.5 TME?
10. Finally...Since it's my idea... give me one for free.

There are rumors that even the base WRX will receive a 2.5 litre engine for 2006. Don't know what that means for the STI.

Yes, the WRX will definitely get a 2.5L engine for the '06 MY......power output etc. not yet released. Rumour is that the '06 STi will be around 330hp & 330 lb/ft torque.
