From reading on Evom for a very long time about how many people are into the 9... I think the price of the 8 will drop, just because so many people will be trading in their 8s for 9s... at least, that's what it sounds like

 

because they can't accept they have a "regular evo" some even started calling theirs "GSR", when the real GSR comes with 6sp like the ones they have in asia.
oh and... they dont like the price for the MR, they think its overprice (35-36g)... compare to the 3000gt VR4 (40g)


P.S. im not trying to start anything with the evo owners...

 

most used evo in here are ranging from 26.5-29g with 15k or more miles... dealers sux, private seller gives better deal

 

I called mine GSR just cuz everyone else called it that, shows that you can't listen to any ONE person on Evom, and I think the MR is perfectly priced, but I still like my "regular Evo" 100000 times better than ANY MR I've driven/rode in... I said I... I'm not trying to start any battles either, everyone has their own favorites, and I'm just stating my opinion too

see, as this thread started... the user wants to wait til the 9 is just coming out, and scoop up the last remaining 8 possible for the bare minimum. i reinterate, you're not gonna get it for 20k new.

just from reading on this board, if you're scraping for cash to purchase the evo, it's not the car for you.

who the **** said im scraping for crash to buy an evo? i could buy an mr if i wanted to, i just dont think that the mr is worth it considering its not that drastic of a change from the regular evo, and for the guy that posted about the sti being so respected, this is because it has a completely different engine with forged internals that can handle more power, the suspension is 10 times better than the wrx, and the brakes are million times better than the regular wrx's, the sti is a whole different car practically, on the other hand, the evo is almost the same exact thing as the mr, i think everyone can agree with that . . . .

 

i <3 my evo 8 and the ONLY reason i didnt get the MR was b/c i am a college student paying for my car, and the extra 6gs was just not doable..it woulda made my payment in the high 400's instead of 360/month..... Ive saved up enough now that ima get BR stage 3 w/ 20g ....the MR is great and the IX will be too...but the VIII will be mine for a while

 

Its up to you, if its worth it for you to wait ... then wait it out and get the 8 for cheaper but it won't be for $5K under MSRP brand new .... personally I'ld rather get it now so I did

 

im not getting a brand new 8, im getting a used one, im just wondering if the kbb on the 03 04 evo 8's will go down once the evo 9 comes out, and also ive been reading and people say that the 05 evo's have ACD? what is this? and the 03 04's do not have this, ACTIVE CENTER DIFFERENTIAL? is it worth getting an 05?

 

by the time u get ur evo it'll be beat up my advice dont get a used a evo
