The IX will have a different turbocharger setup than the previous models. If my japanese source is accurate, supposedly IX will be using magnesium(sp?) cartridge w/ titanium blade setup and slightly more aggressive camshaft profiles. We will probably see AYC as well.

I'm keeping the VIII. If they put AYC on it, I would reconsider.

I'm certainly contemplating it; can't wait for the NY auto show to find out all the juicy details; I hope it's the "real deal" this time.

However, I'm also considering the STi. Rumour has it that the '06 STi will now be arriving around September-time as a total redesign on a new platform (not just a cosmetic upgrade) ahead of the Evo X. These are certainly exciting times for the consumer....can't wait.

That's one of the reasons I'm leaning towards it. The engine set up of the VIII has been around for about 3 years now and several mods are already available for it.

Only the GT/RS have the magnesium compressor wheel - the GSR retains the same turbo charger (and housing) as the MR. Considering the US has a cut down revision of the GSR I'd be surprised if it comes with the RS/GT turbo.

(however, the mag turbo is available as a *FACTORY* option on the GSR for 900*194 yen).
