JDM Mag: Future STi & Evo
The same way some women with nice *** & **** would be out of the world fine if not for the face.... the STI seems to remain as the auto world's 'butter face'
....in other words if I was desperate (which I kind of am) I would hit anyway :|

I have to admit, as quite a few before me have, that at first glance I was not happy with the EVO-X's looks, and a little worried about the loss of the 4G, and paddle shifters being the only option. I find myself in a rather lucky position and have an opportunity to go overseas to make, well, ALOT of money. I would be back in the US around the end of 2007, maybe early 2008. I was scared that by the time I came back, there would be no EVO IX/MR's left on the lot, and I would be forced to buy used.
However, as more and more pictures got released, and more numbers start to come out, I find myself falling in love with this new style. I actually find it hard to sleep these days because as I lay in bed, I can't stop thinking about how fresh this X is going to be. Now every day Im searching for new pictures, new write-ups and browsing forums. Unfortunatly the latter of these usually ends up with me finding a great thread, but after a few pages generally flies way off topic and/or turns into an eFight.
Someones opinion is just that, their opinion, and IMO should not be either pushed on anyone else or cause the person to be "bashed". 4 months ago I would have been quoted as saying, "Oh my god, the EVO-X is one ugly piece of $#!^". Now I'm finding that I really enjoy looking at it. My only worry now is that, since I will not be able to actually purchase OR test drive this car for over a year, I might build it up so much in my head, that it won't be able to live up to my expectations.
However that being said, save for the car I currently own ('99 Eclipse GS) every other car I've had was purchased for $500 or less, and I still feel I overpaid heh. I've also never drove a vehicle with any kind of FI or AWD. So I think no matter how high a pedestal I place this new EVO-X on, it will still shine.

I'm finding that after that photo-chop that someone did of the Evo's front end with the red "crossbar bumper" that I like it much more. I think it really makes the car. Without the monochromatic-colored bumper I think the car looks incomplete. I'm going to assume that once again, the Evo and the STI will be so close in performance that I'd be picking my poison based on looks.
I honestly think the introduction of the X is a nice step for Mitsubishi and their designers. The past three generations have been almost identical copies exterior wise and IMO its not a bad time to redesign it from the ground up. Yea its losing the 4g, but look at honda with the loss of their B series to the K, different animal i know, but still they pulled through and I have faith in Mitsu that they will not disappoint. I love the VIII and IX, obviously or I wouldnt be driving an 04, but still they can't keep it the same forever. Trying to step it up gains respect in my eyes and I anxiously await seeing one of these roll up next to me. I've been a fan from the first pic releases and still hold my ground with that statement. It's aggresive as hell and I hope they don't change it much from what we've seen.
