The "new" Evo IX wheels

Just thought I'd bring this up. Pointless topic really but meh...

Anyway, I was looking through an old Mitsubishi brochure I got from an expo a few years ago. I was looking at the brochures for the Galant VR-4. Now, there were two models for the facelift versions. The manual had recaro seats and different trim for the interior etc. However, if you picked an automatic version, you got leather interior...and these wheels.

The picture is of a wagon, I know, but those are the same wheels available for the automatic versions as shown in the brochure I have. Notice anyhting familiar with the wheels? and they came out in 1998/99.

Nothing significant, just thought I'd bring it up.

ummm, is this really a big deal, they don't even look good on that car, they look pretty good on the IX, so what does it matter?

i think they look real ugly on the ix. the bbs or the old enkei wheels would like much better. the only good thing about them is they are lighter 3-4pds each? I don't know, IMO, they look real ugly. It makes the car look real bad, but then again others might like it.

ohh, not 3-4pds...5ounces. sorry about the typo. yes you are correct, the IXmr retains the bbs wheels, which look real nice. Love the color and the spokes, perfect fit for the evolution. even the 6spoke wheels were sweet. i'll get used to them over time though!
