If all that is being adjusted by MIVEC is the cam timing through a continuously adjustable cam gear, there shouldn't be any need to change any aspect of the actual cam itself.

Again, I don't know anything for sure. This is only an assumption
this is also what i assume but since i am only assuming and do not know for sure, i went the safe route and didn't mention it.

I hope HKS gets those cams out soon, I would like to get my hands on a pair when I get my car.

I talked to Issac @ Vishnu on friday when I picked up my Xede and I asked him how they would be tuning the IX (MIVEC) and he said that there are just eliminating it (the MIVEC).

Incredible.

Instead of attacking it, they go around it. Sun Tzu would be proud.

illiminating it for now is, I suppose, the route to take for someone who wants power than the 330 kit today. But when HKS releases their cams then Vishnu et al can surely use it no problem.

Currently it seems the cams and cam gears are the obstacle...this will change shortly.

lol @ elminating it. If it's just like the ralliart setup... than you can just unplug it. I do it all the time when I wanna save gas and don't need that extra power in the higher rpms.

wow, just wow. I'm not taking my business to them if this is there plan. I rather go with another ECU that can tune MIVEC.

WOW. I'm floored they wouldn't even attempt to figure it out. I'd always thought Vishnu were better than that, despite all the negative things I'd heard about them. That is insane. I hope this was a misunderstanding, or meant to be taken jokingly, because that would be extremely disappointing on their part as a company.

I dont think its a figuring it out issue. Simply put there are no cams nor are their cam gears for it at this time. So, if a customer wants more power today then they simply dont use the MIVEC and slap in some HKS cams / cam gears and tune away.

HKS is rumored to be working on cams etc. so its only a matter of month(s) before the potential of the motor is reached and I am 99.9% sure its going to be the same as without MIVEC but with the torque being lower in the rpm's.

Until someone from Vishnu actual states that - I would hold off on assumptions

You couldn't be more wrong. MIVEC is designed to improve gas mileage by retarding opening timing at low rpms. It improves torque delivery throughout the entire band by varying timing.

Why? ^ This is purely your personal issue. "Motor" is a completely acceptable and technicaly accurate description.

I know what MIVEC was designed for, still... I think I would know alil bit more about it since I do drive a MIVEC equipped vehicle. Fact is, with MIVEC unplug I get better gas on the street and highway, period. The bad side of having it unplug is, my car feels like a civic. Another fact is, I only get 2mpg better gas than a stock evo with my normal driving (in and out MIVEC). If I stay driving in MIVEC (3500rpms+) I can get 19mpg or even less. On the freeway is the only time I get good gas, but on the street... forget it.
