Like 20 years from now, do u guys think the Evo will be a classic? Will the value go up and will it be harder to find? I heard that the Evo X will share the platform with the Dodge Caliber and there are rumours of them making an automatic transmission for it.

I think the value will significantly go up because the 03,04,05, and the 06 Evo VIII and IX will be the only "true/last" evo left. When the X comes out, everything will change; body style, shifting, interior, exterior, you name it will change. It will be really hard to find just like a supra or and rx-7.
I think it will be hard to find one that hasn't been dogged to hell and back in 20 years.
My best guess is that it will be looked back on as the Grand National of it's day. Remember, the GN came out in '84-5; and was the one of the fastest production cars on the street-only beat out by the $45k+ 911 turbo. Both had similar 0-60 & 1/4 mile times. You could mod an GN and get TONS of power. It was the bang for the buck giant killer then that the Evo & Sti are now.

I would think most people will remember it for it's success in the WRC and rally racing in general. It probably wouldn't be considered a classic though in such a short period. It takes real special cars for that to happen (i.e. Lancia Integrale HF, Lancia Stratos, Audi Quattro, E30 M3 EVO).

just kidding. In 20 years we will NOT be out of fuel yet. Some say 40 years but those information are classified so we will not know in the nearest future. The oil companies will never tell us how much we have got left, then they wouldn't be able to keep the price so high.As for the global warming, there is no way to predict. Sure I could happen, but most likely it won't. Earth has been going through a very warm period but that has happened before. I don't think we should be very worried yet.
About the Evo, I will deffinetly be hard to find a 20 y/o one that has not been modded to hell and back, driven to hell and back and probably have a multipled salvage record. It is a 30K+ car and I don´t think many end up as garage queens that will live that long. but then again, I have no idea!

I wonder if we could retrofit the 4G63 to a boat then? The new rally would be dodging whales and oil slicks.
in 20 years ill be 43 and my VIII RS will be in my garage, ill take it out for a spin once a week and all the new generation teen ricers with their evo 20's (or something...) will still look up to me like all the honda ricers do today.
i never plan to trade my evo for anything else or for any other evo, my VIII rs is an absolute classic, after i pay off my evo i wonna getta race built engine and a turbo big enough for 600 hp and ill keep my evo at that till i die.
i hope that by the time im 80 i can still shake the streets with my rs like i do now
