and if you noticed the final 9.5 has a titannium turbo, which do not have, kinda like the 6.5
All evo RS's snice the evo6 have come standard with titanium turbo's, with the GSR's having it as an option.

Except this time the titanium turbo maybe standard across all the trims, in Japan at least.

Well, yes and no.
Though the basic engine head and block design is shared, internals, tuning, etc. are all done by each of the three firms involved with GEMA (DCX/Hyundai/Mitsu) to suit their applications.
As such, there are important differences between the engines. These differences result in variations of output, durability, weight, fuel economy, etc.
I guarantee you, Mitsu will do everything it can to ensure the engines can take similar abuse to the outgoing 4G63T. They have a performance legacy to protect.

More stuff (hope you can read Japanese):

It looks like the JDM Evo 9 MR will be available in white. So it shouldn't be too hard to get the front lip for WW Evos in the US.

does this mean the new evo IX SE models wont have the 4g63 in them??? when does this new motor come into affect... this is horrible news and almost brings tears to my eyes as i wanted to get the evo IX mainly because of the 4g63 and its superiority... is it to late for me to get a brand new evo IX with the 4g63???
The 4B11 is the new 2.0L turbo motor in the Evo X. The Evo IX SE will have the 4G63 in it, the Evo X will not, so now is the chance to make your choice.

I think that not only is the engine shared with the dodge caliber, the chassis is developed together as well. If you really want to know how well the new engine will do, keep an eye on the srt4 forums and see what their tuners think of the new caliber.

Actually, the chassis was not developed together.
The basic platform, known as GS, was initially developed by . When DCX bought them, they decided that all compact and mid-size vehicles from and the Chrysler world would use this platform. After DCX left out to dry, Chrysler continued development of the GS on their own (Caliber, Compass/Patroit) and finalized their own version (as seen on the Outlander and upcoming Lancer/Evo X).
As such, some components may be interchangeable, due to some fixed hardpoints, but other than that the vehicles have little in common.

As mentioned above, the engines too are modified by each participant in GEMA.

Overall guys, i am disapointed. To me, the Evo X have nothing to offer but looks and SAYC.

Not only will the 4G63 be discontinued, which i think will be 's biggest mistake to date, followed up closely by the removal of the 4G63 from 3rd and 4th gen Eclipses; but not offering a manual option like speculated is just disgusting.

We all saw the rise of the Evolution, now watch it fall...

OH and i think they dropped the ball with the SE, in my mind the SE should have been the best of the best all in one Evo IX, i'm talking an SSL evo w/ the 6 speed and the new add on goodies; now that would truely be "special." Which i mean, this is essentially what is already going down, but i just can't own a $35k car without a sunroof.

I will be purchasing the Ralliart Eclipse if it comes out like speculated in 2008, and if not, i'm switching camps to the new GT-R; at least Nissan still has their **** together.

This dude has a good point. I have been a fan of the Evo since I was a lil git and if they are gonna get rid of the 4G63 they might as well get rid of the Evo all together. The X looks hot and the SAYC is nice but if it's not the conventional manual and jus paddle shift i wouldn't waste my time, i drove the M3 and its borin cause there is no clutch it's like drivin an automatic that u have to shift, they might as well make it an automatic Evo like they do in Japan.

But i have to disagree wid the SE opinion, yea maybe they should of added a lil bit more to it but if they had put in the 6-speed it would be alot more than the MSRP $33,249, which is a nice price. The reason why they didn't add the sunroof is because they added the aluminium roof, I actually think it's a good deal and i would rather get that than the others. The Evo isn't a luxury car so it really doesn't need a sunroof especially if u live in FL but i'll admit it's nice to have.
