"The 2007 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X when it appears in early 2007"

Did I read this article wrong or something? It claims the X will be out in early 2007! Ill wait instead of an IX then.

What Edmunds.com Says:It is already the best car in its segment, let's hope Mitsubishi leaves it that way.
What We Know: The 2007 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X will be an all-new feature vehicle when it appears in early 2007. While the Lancer Evolution IX received a face-lift and some other minor changes when it went on sale this year, the Evo X will more or less be rebuilt from the ground up on a brand-new platform which it will share with the next-generation versions of the Chrysler PT Cruiser, Dodge Caliber, and even the Mitsubishi Outlander SUV. In addition to the new sheet metal on the outside, which is believed to greatly reduce the vehicle's weight, the 2007 Evo will get more power as well. Underneath the hood, the 2007 Lancer Evolution X will feature a slightly more powerful version of its turbocharged MIVEC 2.0-liter four-cylinder, with horsepower boosted past the 300 mark. This engine will be paired with a clutchless six-speed transmission that can be shifted manually via steering-wheel-mounted paddles.

They're all guessing, like everyone else.

It's not going to be a 4G63, it's a new engine.

The 4G63T will be missed but will always be the dominating 4 cylinder motor of its time.

True, I just can't decide between the 6-speed DSG with paddleshift or manual. I wonder if the manual would be 5 or 6 speed?

Does anyone know if this new engine will be as easily modable as the 4G63? Im getting a new car next late summer (july), and ill gladly wait another month for the X if it is as good as it is looking to be!

a person from mitsubishi north america already confirmed and POSTED on here that the evo X wouldnt be out before February 2008(the expected launch date) however that date is suspected to change and it is most likely that it will be later if anything

so edmunds is obviously just spot on stupid as everyone knows its NOT going to be a 2007, if anything 08 or 09...
